The system is designed to predict games, and has predicted the winner of Division I-A contests about 70% of the time.
I routinely pick the winner 85-90% of the time over the course of a season in my SEC picks office pool. I'm always near the top, but the pool average is at least 80%. 70% straight up is pretty bad.

If you're only picking 70% in sec games straight up, then I agree it's not very good. Picking 70% for all NCAA games would be more impressive IMO

Why would it be any different? The relative strength of teams in any conference should be roughly the same.

Hawaii vs Colorado
Fau vs Wyoming
Usu vs arkansas st
Unm vs nmsu
Idaho vs Ohio

Games like this I have no idea. I guess even if I don't, I most likely can pick enough of the ones I do to get 70% though. Yeah, maybe 70% isn't that great

Straight up you can go with whomever Vegas favors and do a lot better than 70% I would imagine.

I think it's a typo and should be 100 instead of 10th.

Assuming that the SOS ranking is for the entire schedule and not just the teams that we have played to date, then it should absolutely be that high. Our schedule features games against 5 teams that are currently ranked in the top 10......Arkansas is probably the only other team in the country that can say the same. This is why our 4 OOC games should always be 4 automatic wins.

I think you are right, it must be for the whole season.

The poll will only be accurate after the last regular season game then correct? Weird

It's fun that we're so high... but the credibility is gone when Ohio State is 6th.

I'm pretty sure that it is some sort of computer algorithm and not a human poll, and likely has very little emphasis on strength of schedule, which would push OSU way up there because of their 66-0 win this past weekend.

Of course it's a computer algorithm. But someone had to write the program. People tend to treat computer models as if they're somehow unbiased. They're just as biased as human polls, they just reflect the bias of the programmer instead of the voters.
