Things I've said this year re: baseball

1. We do not suck
2. Brett Pirtle will be big for us by the end of the year. He will start to hit, he just needs reps vs. SEC competition.
3. Henderson comes up big in big games (I know, I know, this isn't a solid call really. I'll still lay claim to it to be fair.)
4. Detz needs to play 3B. Does not need to be Norris.
5. Our team is built for the postseason. The season is for trying things and putting us in a position to play postseason ball.
6. Small ball helps us out. Avoiding the bunt is a stupid philosophy.



I do wish we'd steal a bit more. But then again, our base running scares me sometimes. So maybe not.

We looked good today outside of fielding. I hate these threads, but then again..... I love being right more.

I'm just happy, I'll stop.

True about Pollo.. He gets shelled pretty easily/quickly..

We just need to score 4-7 runs, play error free baseball and our pitching staff needs to be more focused than ever.

That's fine. We gave them 3 in the first and still won in big fashion. If Pollo gives up 3 or so tomorrow in the first 1 or 2 Girado is going to go for a whiiiiiiiiile. Either way he'll be the pitcher with starting #'s. Holder hasn't pitched in a long time now and will be fresh enough to go 3 innings too.

Pollo is gold under 40 pitches.

Pollo can give us 40 pitches. That's good for about three, maybe four innings. The biggest thing is not overextending him too much.

I don't disagree.

I'm saying, he eats up valuable innings for us to let someone else take it over in a good spot, USUALLY. Sometimes, our defense doesn't always support him. Sometimes it's on him.

But he mostly does a good job.

You nailed it. We need to let Pollo get through the order once, maybe twice, and at the first sign of trouble yank him. He does not bounce back. Once he starts giving up hits and walks, he's done. Not his fault, but our coaches MUST recognize it early tomorrow and pull him quick.

The one thing I have been saying all year is that this team cannot be beaten by many teams in the country when we aren't walking people and making errors. If we will eliminate errors and not give free passes, we will win this series.
