The 21-13 Golden Gophers have one of the best double-double guys in college basketball in Jordan Murphy. But this is a poor offensive team, one of the worst shooting teams in major-conference college hoops. Keep an eye on Amir Coffey, who has the talent to combine with Murphy and keep them in the game against many a superior opponent.

Not much help from the bench to brag about

Murphy is a load inside and Coffey can get hot. A lot of youth and they don't impress me on defense. I don't feel they can pressure us at the guard position. To beat the Cards, Coffey will have to go off bigtime and Murphy get our bigs in foul trouble.

Low 30's in 3's %, with only one guy over 40. 67% from FT line. If we limit one or the other of their big 2, they don;t have a lot of options outside of that. I really like our chances here!

The thing that concerns me is our inability to handle pressure. I am fairly sure Minnesota is going to put on the full court pressure because that's just a weakness for the Cards that shines thru. Why wouldn't they?

I have that game recorded on VHS somewhere. Cards played Boise St in the first round before meeting up with Minnesota and Voshon Leonard. The Clem Haskins era. That was a good game.

Murphy is the real deal. Coffey can be, but he doesn't often put a full game together. If he does, that is bad for the opponent.

McBrayer plays with energy, but he is a bag of bones and an inconsistent shooter. Oturu can be good inside given his size, but he does dumb things with the ball a lot.
