we killed auburn, they sort of slipped by them
we killed arkansas, they again slipped by them
atm killed us, bears played them tough
bama killed us both, bears played them tougher
bears obviously played lsu tougher

pretty obvious that bama, lsu, and atm were asleep at the wheel when they played ole miss. take that and the arkansas game into consideration, and we likely should win, but it's in oxford. that worries me.

we are the better team. will they be ready to play, is the question. i think we win a close one. tyler pulls it out in the end. go to hell ole miss

After today, I am uneasy.
Arky tooled us early.
To my credit, I didn't leave the stadium at halftime.

Bearebs played an awesome game in B-Rogue.

Whatever. Game on.

They've had a better season than most of us thought they would, their coach seems to a bit better than we thought, and they'll be playing for a bowl bid. Yep, it's probably going to be a tough game for the dogs.

That said, I look forward to the Dogs providing the Rebs with a distraction-free Christmas shopping season beginning next week.

I look for OM to take chances early in order to get to Tyler. We need to work on quick hitting slants and screens to our backs. I think both teams will be ready for this one. This could be a fun game to an unbiased fan.

As much as we'd like to think otherwise, the Bears have a pretty good team. If things were just slightly different for them (primarily coaching decisions), they'd be 7-4 right now with wins over Vanderbilt and A&M, and almost beat LSU last night. We've lost to 3 top 10 teams, and lost badly in two cases ... played LSU well and had a chance to the end without the 14 point swing at the end. But the Bears played two of those same teams really well ... and gave Alabama bit of a test.

The game in Oxford will be very interesting. I think we win because the players and coaches want very much to win 4 in a row and continue the streak. But the Bears won't roll over like they did last year.

They are much better than last year. I don't see a 3 td win some see. A win Saturday by OM and they are in a bowl game. Even after a tough loss to LSU, they will be sky high. I will take a 1 point victory and happily go my merry way.

Here is my nice thing I am going to say about the bears this week. What worries me most is they don't quit. They had 4-5 turnovers vs LSU? When most teams give up that many turnovers, it results in a lopsided score (See Arky yesterday). But the bears were there battling it out in the end. The D played tough and prevented LSU from capitalizing on many of the turnovers. We are going to have to play four full quarters of football to get out of there with the W.

With home field advantage, they may be a one to two point favorite?

They didn't slip past Auburn......They throttled them pretty good and won by a

larger margin than we did, for what that's worth (not much IMO).......Nevertheless they beat Auburn every bit as bad as we did..........

The difference in the two teams at this point is primarily our schedules. MSU got to play Tennessee and Kentucky. UMIss played Texas out of conference. That's 2 wins for us and 1 loss for them, and that's why MSU is 8-3 while UMiss is 5-6.

While biased, I still believe MSU is the better team. While watching the UMiss-Arkansas game, it was obvious both of those teams were pretty bad and that MSU could beat them. I've been predicting wins over both those teams even in the midst of the 3 game losing skid. If I were a UMiss fan, I would be looking at the difference in our schedules and figuring the Bears have a pretty good chance of pulling it off. A home game, a rivalry, a bowl game on the line.....I think we will all be pulling our hair out during the game, and I'm glad I won't have internet access to read the in-game crap that will be posted here.

What he means is Auburn was in the game in the 4th quarter (the score was 24-20, OM going into the 4th). The score was more lopsided than it really needed to be because Auburn took chances to get back in the game and it benefited OM (don't forget the Dyer'esque tackle that allowed OM to score). It was back and forth most of the game.

agree completely. difference is most definitely texas and the east opponents. but tennessee isn't near as bad as they appear to be now. they quit a few games ago. actually i think they quit after we beat them. no reason for them not to be 7-5. they straight laid down.

Outside of the 2nd quarter, by far our worst quarter in every game all year, we physically dominated Auburn. We more than doubled their offensive output. We held them to less offensive yardage than State, and only 60 yards in the 2nd half. We dominated them for 3 of the 4 quarters. At worst, our performances against them were equal.

They are 0-7 in the SEC. They will battle Kentucky for worst in the SEC this weekend. They have held one D-1 team to less than 21 offensive points. They just fired their head coach. They are as bad as they look. Congratulations on beating 3 of the 4 worst teams in the SEC.

No they didn't... They had to play them tight all the way into the 4th quarter. The ending score of that game was not indicative of how close it was. I think it was clear they were still the better team, but they didn't throttle them.

All the statistical prediction sites I have looked at have UM winning by one or two. I'm prepared to lose Saturday, but I hope our coaching gets it's head out of its *** and wins this one. It's going to be a very emotional game. There is a lot of pride on the line on both sides.

I'm Just wondering why it's always that Bama, Lsu, and aTm were alseep at the wheel if we played them close or should have won?

If we start on defense like we've started 3 out of the last 4 games, and a couple before that, we will likely dig too big of a hole to dig out of.

If we don't start with our heads up our ***, we will likely win.

We've been up for 3 straight egg bowls, but we've always had the benefit of playing a dc that doesn't understand how to stop our offense. Even though we adjusted to Arkansas, they also made a lot of stupid mistakes (penalties and turnovers) that we didn't really force, and they kind of lost their energy as a result. Not sure how we would have done without that assistance and I'm still worried whether we will be in position to stop Ole Miss's offense.

This^^ is the only answer. We are a better team, but that doesn't mean we will win. Even after the 14 we held Ark to, our defense worries me bad. Arkansas gift wrapped a few things for us, and OM will play PERFect against us, watch. They will come out running their little trick plays and if Wilson starts us off with his head up his *** like the last 4 weeks, we will be down 28-0 in the blink of an eye.

I can't speak for LSU or A&M, but Bama experimented some things versus Mississippi this year... tried out some new players and plays... we went after MSU's throat from the coinflip. My Dark Lord could have named the score in both games.

I haven't made any of those claims (others have)

but I will say A&M had almost 1/3 of their season turnover total against UM. And I thought Alabama should have thrown deep more against UM. Didn't see much of the game yesterday. Wasn't surprised though. Usually if Ole Mis gets thumped by LSU, it's time to change coaches.

i could absolutely see us coming out flat. 3 years of beating you senseless does give you a feeling of superiority.

note that i have not said that any of this matters. it's all about getting the w.
