This has been largely what I expected

We haven’t looked particularly good but still comfortably better than USM. Any real takeaways probably are on the negative side but the strong 3rd quarter leaves the door open just enough for some to be optimistic.

We will know what we have next week and my expectation that we are losing that game is that same as it has been all summer.

ASU brought in Army’s RB (didn’t know you could transfer out of the military academies) but supposed to be a really good replacement for Scatt

Thought our defense looked slightly better than I expected today but we will find out if that was just because of USM’s talent level.

ASU has a good defense and I’m worried they may give our OL fits. Not very reassuring OL play even if we did run it well at times.

If we were well coached we could beat asu. They aren’t much better than us on
Paper. They are well coached. They are overrated.

The stat sheets between both teams was extremely balanced and even. The only place we out performed them was in the rushing game. And That’s against a Sunbelt team. . My season Outlook is unchanged until next week.

I'm not sure I'd call 465 yards to 300 extremely balanced. We completely dominated the 3rd Quarter and the game was over at that point.

We were the better team. All that means is we're pretty far ahead of the worst teams in FBS. We'll find out next week if we're a mid level FBS team or not.

As I said - pretty even with the exception of rushing.

We were one of the worst teams in the nation last year. No doubt. We are better now. It remains to be seen if coaching can clear up the vast number of mental boneheaded plays.

Yep. I always think we’re going to learn something from week 1 but we never do.
We learned stuff, you can just never be too certain off one weeks game. But we learned we’re what most people expected. We’re better than last year, but still probably not very good. We’re probably a 3 or 4 win team. Can’t be certain off of one game and it’s possible the OL will gel and become decent and that all the penalties were just first game jitters and/or kinks that will be worked out. But most likely we are under talented and under coached for the sec and it’s going to be a long season, but maybe not lose to Toledo/northern Illinois long.

ASU has 8-10 draft prospects. 5-6 just on D. How many do we have?

The NFL guys love ASU. I think they may have just reloaded.

Penalties too. Got to get that cleaned up.

Edit: just saw "mental." That would include the penalties. Long story short Lebby had a lot of 17ing work to do.

Do we know hay game participation was? I'm referring to guys who got in the game for us but would also like to know who played 5 or more plays not counting kickers, punters or long snappers.
