This has been one pathetic Cotton Bowl

Both teams didn't want to win. To top it off the game swung on a pathetic missed offsides call. I mean, how do you miss Powe jumping offsides and hitting an OL before the ball is snapped? Oh well, congrats Ole Miss. You finished your underwhelming season with an underwhelming win in the Cotton Bowl.

Could have ended better. But if I'm a fan of either team, I dont feel very good about the coming year.

I mean, Grandy can replace McCluster, right?

when neither team wants to be there.

And I now see why Mike Gundy will never coach anywhere other than OSU. That was a ****** game plan on offense.

Calling the wildcat the "razorback" (I think the cowboys are the only ones to use that term), calling Enrique Davis "Eugene" Davis... where did that come from? And too many more blunders to name. Sumerall was the perfect fit for this game.

Name the team that closed out the Cotton Bowl in the old Fair Park Stadium with a victory and opened the Cotton Bowl in the new Cowboy's Stadium with a victory in consecutive years? Hint: The team won both games by double digits. Sorry, but you will remember the answer to this question for as long as you live.

with Conner backing him up. I think we'll see Perkins perform in more of a scatback role, similar to how you used McCluster prior to making him your feature back. Ballard and Neal could come in and get some reps too. Also, it is probable Relf will take 10-15 snaps a game and carry it at least 8-10 times. I don't know that we'll get one guy to rush for almost 1400 like Dixon did, but the group effort should be enough to keep us in the top half of the conference rushing wise. Combine that with the fact that our passing game has to improve, and we should be a top 50 offense.

Your turn.

play as bad as OM did and still win the Cotton Bowl or sit your sorry asses at home like you did? Anyone of you who says you would not have rather been sitting in Cowboys Stadium today is full of poo poo. As far as next year, the only thing that makes you think you'll be any better is the fact that you won the Egg Bowl....against a team that sucks, right? The week prior to the Egg Bowl every one of you thought you were about to take a beating.

So make up your minds, was the win against OM in the Egg Bowl a quality win or not?

What if I told you they won the first one at Cowboys Stadium? What if I told you a movie could change the way you think about sports? High Cotton, directed by Shepard Smith.

that we'll be better- you lose practically everyone on your team. If Ole Miss had our schedule, they would not have done nearly as well, and would be sitting home themselves. We will have an easier schedule, and while we lose a lot of running game, we will be improved in the passing game. Not only that, we improved as the year went on. If we don't get better, I will be pretty upset, and rightfully so.

And on top of that, Dan clearly outcoached Nutt. If Ole Miss had Dan and the current team that they had this year, you definately beat South Carolina and State and you play in the Capitol One Bowl.

"If Ole Miss had our schedule"

Would you rather have our schedule and win 9 games. Or have the #1 hardest schedule and not go to a bowl game?

Seems like an easy choice to me.

What team ended their 2009 home schedule with an on-campus Klan rally?

p.s. Sorry, HD. These Rebtards are causing me to go nuclear.

I tend to agree with you on many topics, but to leave this up to hypos doesn't get it done. You say IF OM had State's schedule we would be at home as well. Did you forget that OM beat at least two teams that State lost to? Were we fortunate that they were at home, of course. However, OM did beat the same two teams at the their place in '08. But that doesn't mean much does it? About as much as your swapping schedules arguement.

I think the fact of the matter is, that home field is huge in the SEC and it was very evident this year. Outside of FL and Bama noone could consistently win on the road.

if we had the nine wins and had gone to a bowl with your schedule, I wouldn't be on NAFOOM talking **** about going to a bowl game.

Besides, what's so illogical about a team that had an extremely difficult schedule and beat the crap out of a bowl team that had a much easier schedule being better with that teams schedule?

It makes more sense to me than say, I don't know, coming out with a bumper sticker saying Ole Miss 31 NC 30.

I would have much rather been a 9 win Cotton Bowl victor than a 5 win team that whipped the 9 win Cotton Bowl victor's ***...but any of you Rebels who say they enjoyed watching that 15 turn-over fight amongst two 2nd grade fat kids at recess isn't being honest with your inner Rebel.
Yancy is taking confessions on line 3.</p>

I have said is before, yall beat us bad. There is no denying that. But I think that its pretty lame to say "well, if yall had our schedule yall wouldnt have won ****"

Maybe not, but we didnt have yalls schedule.

Oh, and I didnt come over here talking ****.

Ill say this, I thought yall played pretty good football this year. It really did surprise me. Its obvious that Mullen seems to be a pretty good coach.

Mutt, I would think that someone with a cool name like yours would be smarter, or at least fairer, than this. Don't try to make the KKK thing into something that it wasn't. It was 9 illiterate redneck racists who were shouted down by OM students supporters and litereally run off of the campus.

seriously. If you cant see how our offense opens up when a qb who can see over the line will be able to find a wr like bumphis who schooled you, or a tight end, or a running back out of the backfield, then hang your hat on what we lose in dixon vs conner, or elliot or whomever.

Bottom line, you had your chance this year to take advantage of us only having a running qb to generate offense, but you couldnt even stop him. Dixon's yards werent just because of Dixon's talent. It was because you couldnt just shut him down.

Now you have to deal with Relf and Russell and whomever they decide to distribute the ball to and now we'll be able to do that better. Only you wont have the firepower to keep up with that.

Who is the only university in the State of MS to go to Omaha, Atlanta, and a Final 4? See how that works?

than running over to your rivals message board and rubbing the bowl victory in their faces despite the fact that Ole Miss looked like utter crap. And no, I didn't do that after the Liberty Bowl.

Besides, do you seriously think that you would have beat Georgia Tech with the option buster at DC in Nix? What about Houston? You think you beat Florida again this year? I doubt it. I'm not even sure that you could beat UK on the road.

I will say this- after the Liberty Bowl, I was happy that we won, but you better believe I had some reservations, especially knowing that Ellis Johnson was thinking about leaving, and knowing that Croom wasn't going to do anything about the offense, and the fact that we had some SEC teams wanting our heads after we beat them that year.

I know this- if I was an Ole Miss fan, I'd sure as hell have some reservations to- knowing that McCluster is gone along with a ton of starters, and Stanley looked horrible and lost. Aside from McCluster, Snead, and Trahan, no one stepped up. And who knows if Powe will stay or not?

But I'm a State fan and I'm happy with the direction of our football program. So, I'll leave it at that.

I'm not looking to get into a pissing match; don't have the time nor the interest. A win is a win is a win....and we got one today. I hope your recruiting class comes together as you anticipate and wish nothing but the best for your hoops team, baseball team, and the upcoming football season. See ya around the SPS.
