I didn't realize we would miss Mag this much. Crazy how different the team is. What's the record since he went out? 1-6,?

We are a more dangerous explosive offense without Mag according to Hawk 🤣
Another all time terrible take on this board. He'll come into this thread and play 30 questions with us to defend himself.

One more chance for Pike. He has seen Michigan’s gameplan against us and it won’t change. Double Dickinson on the catch. Assume Howard will switch to zone coming out of a timeout. Scheme up some offense.

This is all on Pike.
To start PM over Simpson to start the second half was mind numbing.
The worst coaching display over an 8 game stretch
Nobody was very good today. Simpson was a little bit of a spark on O today, but he was a big minus player because of his D and turnovers. His inability to fight over screens lead to 2 dunks by the NW Center because he forced Cliff to abandon drop coverage and play Simpson's man. He allowed a couple of runners when cliff retreated on drop coverage. Down the stretch he went under the screen 2 times allowing wide open easy 3's. He did it once in the first half too not to mention the couple of 3 because he was too slow on his close out when he is sagging down to play help D when it isn't needed.

Simpson looks like he may become a good player, but his overall game is not there yet.

Agreed. His loyalty to the piss poor playing of Paul down the stretch is abominable. Paul is lost in PITY LAND, and he NEVER grew out of it. Pike DID NOT earn his money this year. PERIOD!

The recipe that NW, Michigan and Iowa used against us was to pressure the ball. We don't move well without the ball on offense. And our ball handlers become flustered. It's a zero risk move on defense for our opponents. Expect the same against Michigan. Mulcahy can pass well but hes not a point guard that poses a scoring threat. We need a point guard next year! Pike has upped the recruiting. We need to let it play out.

The only thing I lay at Pike's feet for the last 8 games is roster building - we just had no depth at all this year.

Palmquist, Reiber, Woolfolk, Chol, Miller just didn't show they are able to play at this level this season... taking 5 scholarships.

Over the last 8 games, they have combined for:
152 minutes (19.0)
39 points (4.9)
21 rebounds (2.6)
3 assists (0.4)
2 steals (0.3)
2 blocks (0.3)
8 turnovers (1.0)

They were ineffective on offense and defense and put a ton of pressure on the 6 remaining guys to do everything after Mag went down. Mulcahy then deteriorates (very possibly playing hurt - but regardless of reason, his output dropped dramatically), and there was just no one there to turn to.

Wouldn't have mattered who they put in in the 2nd half - nobody available for Rutgers today was going to change the outcome. We have too little margin for error on offense, and nobody was playing ok on offense. Add in some defensive lapses and you get what we had tonight. Again we are capable of losing to anybody.

This was on Pike that we didn't have the horses going into the season offensively.

correct, but Wolf is a freshman and showed some promise at least. Chol who knows at this point. other 3 110% correct. Remember, not all 11 or 12 can be productive.

Not expecting them all to be productive... but you can't have 5 dead scholarships on your roster. One or two of them have to be able to produce when a player inevitably gets hurt or goes through a rough patch.

Solid teams have guys waiting for their chance to make a mark. The only guy outside our "Starting Five Plus One" that has really showed an ability to play at this level is Simpson.
