To be fair, there's not a lot to be done in that situation... but they still needed to call the NTSB to report the incident. Generally landing a small airplane in a field, while not an outcome to be desired, doesn't turn out to be that big of a deal.

Landing a C-421 in a field would require a lot of room and luck to avoid any damage to the airframe. Not to mention concentration! They should consider themselves very lucky! Incidents like this have often had much worse outcomes concerning twins.
