Only thing said that I've wondered about

Why can't we lower our field to get fans closer to the action ?
otherwise I don't give a crap about Kyle Field.

"Sawing off Varsity's horns..." Hm, I didn't know that is why they rocked back and forth.

They are very sensitive about it. Very quick to point out that the Cadets make up a very small percentage of Aggies.

Correct. "Varsity" is the original name of the Longhorn, Texas' mascot.

He didn't become "Bevo" until aTm branded him 13 / 0 after beating Texas by that score in in the 1920s I believe...and "Bevo" was their method of fixing the brand.

I second this. Ive been to Autzen Stadium and with half the fans....

its the most intimidating place ive ever been to see a game.....TTown at night, death valley, etc...nothing is like autzen stadium....now they are making kyle field a bigger version of it with rednecks?

wish we could lower our field, bring our seats in, and ring a few cowbells.....but ****....thats too much progressive thinking for Miss folks...

just wishful dreaming i guess....

I guess Texas is the Ms conservatives wet dream....

Strange is a very nice way to describe them. Every time I think of their fans, all I can remember are those funny fairy dances they kept doing during the game. Disturbing

Their student body is almost 3 times ours. But they don't have 3 times the attendance. If they did, they'd have 180K at a football game.

You mean the exclusively male cheerleaders? I think that's a bit odd too. Face it ... who wants to watch a man dance around?

I'd trade them our cheerleaders for the weird dudes and their checking account.

WVU has one too

Didn't know about the Michigan guy and was looking it up ... and found that WVU has one too.

I thought the exact opposite. Autzen was pretty ordinary to me. I could not tell if we were intimidated since we were playing with what was the equivalent of a mid level d3 squad.

Afraid we`ll see a bunch of this type thing from aTm

"The Texas A&M board of regents announced approval of the redevelopment of the Aggies' longtime home with plans to expand capacity to 102,500, making it the largest stadium in the SEC and the third-largest stadium in college football.

Only Michigan and Penn State have greater capacity, and A&M's construction will just surpass Tennessee's 102,455 capacity at Neyland Stadium."

The "redevelopment" just happens to make the stadium 45 seats larger than Neyland "making it the largest stadium in the SEC". As a group these people have spent more money than anyone on the planet trying to buy their freedom from an absolutely suffocating inferiority complex. They are a trip.

Autzen was charming ( the beer garden was awesome)...not really intimidating at all. Speakin of Kyle.....Kyle York made vandy seem like an intimidating place. Way too much cred to autzen.

Is it just me, or does it seem kind of lame of them to name something after Bear Bryant on their additions ?

That would somewhat be the equivalent of us putting Darrel Royals name somewhere on ours.

Bryant was at A&M for 4 seasons. I know he was a great coach, but all that will do is feed Alabamas ego even more.

Texas A&M is the most heavily endowed school (passing Vandy) in the SEC with ~ $8 Billion. And, since joining the SEC, giving has increased in a BIG way. They have had the $$ to expand Kyle Field for years BUT joining the SEC has 'jumpstarted' interest.

Oh, and I have worked with many, many Aggies over the years both in and out of the military and I have yet to meet a single one with an inferiority complex.

Well you`ve had your head up your ***. FOR DECADES if U. of Texas builds a dog house the Aggies will build a two story dog house and ignore the fact that they don`t need any dog house at all. Sure they have money and have always spent it to out-do UT wherever they could thinking it was the key to gaining respect. Question: Do you think their expansion was always geared towards 102,500 making it "the biggest stadium in the SEC" by 45 seats. But don`t take my word for it just watch. They`re not going let anyone in the SEC to have anything materially better than them if they can stop it with money. They`ll be the new-rich neighbor that spends more time seeing what you own than what they need.

Same here, I don't remember anything at Autzen being special, especially the opponent that day
