This is one hell of a good game.

1. I hate how announcers throw in commentary that is not true. Toward the end of the game, they were hanging Florida State's kicker out to dry on that missed extra point and how costly it had turned out to be. That missed EP was completely irrelevant once FSU got the successful two point conversion. Had the kicker made his first extra point, the situation would have required them to send him out for the extra point instead of going for two. The missed extra point had no bearing on the game's score in the end.

2. With 5 seconds remaining on the clock, I think Florida State had time for two more plays. You can easily get off a quick slant attempt or something of the like and still have a last shot on 4th down with a second or two left. Even on that rollout play, the ball rolled out of the receivers hands with the last second rolling off the clock.

I believe the rules are clear in that the play that the play clock shouldn't stop running until the referee has blown the play dead. So you have to assume at least another second ran off between the time the ball hit the ground and the referees ruled it incomplete.

ESPN spent the entire game trashing the ACC. And for good reason. They lost TWO games to I-AA teams.

It's pretty obvious that FSU and Miami are right up there with VT and GT this year. Aside from those 4, the league is garbage.

Miami will have a tough time with their schedule. FSU has a crappy secondary and will give up tons of yardage. I doubt either one will finish with that great of a record.

I thought FSU did a poor job of managing the clock there at the end, and should have had at least one more shot on 4th down. They let a ton of time run off... I don't remember what play it was after or what down, but with about 30+ seconds left they were horribly confused. Miami ended up calling t/o with 19 seconds left, so FSU probably would've let the clock run down a few more seconds if it had not been for that. I think they took time to huddle up and everything. There was no reason to not have enough time left to use all four downs.

Oh, and if you didn't learn anything else from the commentators - don't wait too long to throw it deep. This is our moment, this is our time...</p>

that this was a statement game for the ACC, and that they DO play good football. (Apparently the other 8 teams losing was an anomaly.)
