but apparently this guy's a doofus. It's not just the language barrier, but I was told that he's pretty stupid and the guys on the team are having to explain things constantly to him. Therefore, I'm expecting another Marcus Campbell, who once asked in a environmental science class, "Teacher, why we have trees?"

Edit to add: This was supposed to be under the John Reik expectations thread, but my browser apparently is doing crazy things.

MIT or Hillsdale College. When other guys his age were going to school and playing goose-and-giggle with Mary Jane Rottencrotch, he was probably dodging bullets and avoiding armed warlords.

And I'm not clowning on the guy for being stupid, just making an observation. He was in a tough situation that no one on here would like to be in.

Marcus Campbell on the other hand- he was stupid, and I'll clown on him all day long.

You know sometimes just the language barrier can make a non-native speaker appear stupid. This guy has had a whole lot to adapt to in a very short period of time. Maybe we should give him a break.

Sorry, no one is this stupid. Not even Marcus Campbell.

I'm not making fun of the guy; he has a pass from coming from a war-torn, no running water, really bad educational system country in Africa. I'm cool with that. I'm glad he's gotten the opportunity to come over here and hopefully get a better education and a college degree.
And also like I stated earlier, I was specifically told that it was not the language barrier. I heard he's just dumb.

Therefore, I'm assuming there was around 48 or more witnesses. Campbell was an idiot. Pure idiot.

Im sure State is the only college with idiots playing basketball and football.

Let's be honest here.....I would make a guess that 25% of the male athletes in the SEC(football and basketball), don't read at a HS Level. I would guess most couldn't pass remedial Algebra right now. Im not being an ***, Im just stating what has become obvious. These kids get a pass in most cases because they think they are going to make it to "the league".

It's sad that most will end up doing nothing with their degree after college, if they get one, because they didn't earn it. Most won't have the skills to work in a job that pays a substantial amount of money.

"you know what i'm sayin" --- Dixon

It isn't just Dixon. It seems to be anyone under 25 now a days. A young person I work with, at times, use that phrase after every other sentence. I like reply with, "No, I don't." Pisses her off.

To keep on subject. What did you guys expect with this guy. I figured from day one he would be another Morgan or at best Campbell.

athletic academic office and a vast majority of the athletes were no different than the other students on campus. Sure some professors were easier on the athletes but some were harder on them and a vast majority of them didn't treat them any different than the other students. If it wasn't for athletics then some of the athletes would not have been able to go to college in the first place. A degree or even college credits (if they don't graduate) are going to help in the long run. However I never once saw an athlete "given a grade".

i do the same thing but I answer with a few response "Why yes, I do know what you are saying", "No, I am not sure could you say that again", "You said it loud and clear, do you think I'm deaf", and my favorite is to interrupt over and over and over with "I know what you are saying"...sortof like a pre-emptive "you know what I'm sayin". I have found that the last one is the best at pissing them off.

I didn't expect anything either when it came to this guy being educated.

Dodging bullets and all, I fully expect a faster, black version of Dirk Nowitzki without the panzy effort on the defensive end. Very Neo-esque from the matrix.

Someone wanna fark that? Riek dodging bullets matrix style.

(I get your point though)
