This is why it's so important to host a regional

If you aren't a host, there is no telling where the NCAA committee is going to put you. We were the hottest team in the SEC the last half of the season and won 16 of our last 21 games and got put in the regional of the #3 national seed and probably the best #3 seed in the whole tournament. Ole Miss hasn't won **** in about a month and got put in a non-national seed regional with one of the weakest #2 seeds in the tourney in TCU. Last year we limped in with a losing SEC record and 0-2 SEC tourney performance and got put in a MUCH easier regional than the one we are in this year. That's why it's so important to host a regional so you know you'll get more favorable matchups and not rely on the committee dropping you in a random regional. Hopefully next year will be the year we finally host for the first time in 10 years.

and FSU did get screwed with a tough regional. But it's much more likely for teams that host to advance because they get more favorable matchups. And that's something we haven't done in 10 years. Everyone creamed about us getting to the supers last year but a big part of that was because we were in an easy regional. It was the luck of the draw. This year we are in a difficult regional. If you host a regional, you don't have to rely on luck as much in getting placed in a favorable regional. But slipping in a regional as a #2 or 3 seed and hoping to get a favorable regional is not the way to have consistent postseason success.
