Chris Jans, Mississippi State

After going to the NCAA tournament in each of his first three seasons in Starkville, Jans and the Bulldogs are limping toward a sub-.500 finish this season. Mississippi State is considered one of the worst jobs in the SEC, so it's conceivable he could look to jump to another high-major program with the right fit.

So it really is us.

That's a far tumble to the bottom.

I wish we had moved on from Stansbury earlier than we did to go after a better coach. But Stans, at least, kept us competitive during the regular season.

I do wonder why Howland had so little success here.

Beard is also on the list with comments similar as those for Jans

I have heard that Jans has a relatively high buyout

Because we’re considered the worst place in the SEC!

The phrases, old and tired, just cashing a check, and coasting to retirement come to mind.

I think he’s a good coach and don’t want him to leave but so what if he does. Honestly if he gets a better job offer he should take it cause it sounds like some of y’all don’t want to give him a chance to improve.

I don't feel like I've seen State mentioned as the worst or one of the worst/hardest jobs in the SEC until this year. Now I've seen it multiple times.
Has the NIL era just doomed us that badly? (Obviously it's done us no favors)

We’ve given him 4 years & 0 NCAAT wins. I don’t necessarily want him to leave. But I won’t really care if he does.
