As Todd said, there is almost no way that LSU stops Dixon diving over the pile with a full head of steam. If Jones is able to stuff that, then he's a man's man. I would say that the ability to jump up and block a pass is a hell of a lot easier than taking on a 235 lb. running back diving at him with a lead blocker in front. We should never have relied on a below-average QB to make a crucial play or option "read" with the game on the line. Give the ball to your best player and force the defense to basically do the impossible. I didn't like the option play on 4th down either-too many things could go wrong (bad pitch, fumbled pitch, pitch tipped by defender, etc.) for it to be used on the goal line.
