This still has not sunk in for me.

Three weeks ago we were in danger on not even making the tournament beneath the NIT and now here we are in the NCAAs. I still can't get over it. The fact that we went through the 3 best teams in the SEC prior to the SEC tournament makes it all the better. No fluke here at all.

8-1 vs the "powerful" east and we redeemed that one to win the championship...

we beat every team in the SEC this year except for Auburn.

seeing us in the tourney and them hosting an NIT.
Also, when was the last time we beat every team in the East at least once in a season????

Nope, not a fluke. We won the SECT on good defense. I don't care what ESPN says either. LSU and UT are talented teams. If we continue that defense Thursday, and shoot decent. We will win.

wins over lsu, ut, wku, bama state, and one other.

losses of course to ut and lsu. Maybe our problem all year has been a case of playing to our opponent?

There were a couple of games earlier that we showed we had the potential to play that kind of defense (Kentucky is a good example) that wins championships. When we hustle on the defensive end we can cause a lot of problems with our quickness. IMO the biggest reason why we were able to do that during the SECT was because all 10 of the guys we used took this attitude to the court with them Thursday through Sunday.

We know we have some shooters. We know we have a big presence inside with V. But when the whole group is hustling their asses off on defense we are a far different team than we have displayed during our low points this season and we are more than just a team that survives shooting the 3 ball. Hopefully, we will keep this up this weekend. I think we can sneak up on these boys in the opening rounds.

I think young players often don't play with a sense of urgency and sometimes have a tendency to overlook weaker opponents. A one and done format kind of forces you to play like there is no tomorrow and focus a bit more. Put this way: Play San Diego or Charlotte again and tell the team that if they lose then the season is over. It would be a 30 point butt whooping for those two.
