This Year Is Obviously Not Next Year For The Cubs

These clowns are painful to watch, and we are only 11 innings into the season.

Jim Hendry wasted too much money on a bunch of washed up veterans three years ago, and the Cubs are stuck with them. Why the Ricketts family brought him back for another year is a mystery to me.

..is that Aramis Ramirez has not already suffered a season-ending injury.

I mean, they've already played almost 2 games, & Ramirez remains miraculously healthy.

having him and Soriano batting back-to-back is the reincarnation of the Black Hole in the middle of the line-up

...that the Cubs came from behind to win a game or that Aramis Ramírez will enter the 3rd game of the season injury-free.

If he's in the line up, then everything just falls into place as far as the batting order and such... But if he's injured, which is probable, it'll be another long year.<div>
</div><div>I actually wouldn't be opposed to shopping Fukudome to see what we could get for him (preferably a 2nd baseman)... Then, insert Colvin in the lineup on a daily basis.</div>

If you can, you would be the first.
Let's be honest. St Louis is as old as the Cubs, and Cincinnati, IMO, doesn't have the pitching to win again. Milwaukee should be better, but who knows how Marcum and Greinke are going to make the transition to a new league. I think the Brewers are hands down the best team in the division, but everyone there is decent except Houston. Even the Pirates are better.

All that being said, there isn't a surefire ML'er in the deal. Archer certainly looks the part, but I think he is at best a back of the bullpen guy. His secondary stuff simply isn't good enough. Guyer could be a late bloomer, but I don't think so. Yes, he put up good numbers next year, but if the Cubs thought that much of him, he would already be up as a 26 year old. Lee can't hit. Period. So, the odds of him playing in the big leagues are very slim. Chirino's, IMO, is the best player there, but he is almost ML ready and the Cubs are solid at his position.

Again, I'm not saying the move was the right move, but I don't think they gave up their best prospects, either. If they had given up Jackson or McNutt, I would be pissed.
