I haven't seen this much total guts and resiliency combined in one picture in a long time. Just take these guys individually and think about their stories and how they got to this point. There were times in each of these guy's careers (and lives in Pollo's case) where they could have easily just given up and quit and nobody would have blamed them, but each of these guys stuck out A LOT of tough times early in the Cohen era and are being very deservingly rewarded for it. You can't doubt if any of these guys have a pair of Girodos, because they have always given 110% every day they've been here and I just wanted to commend their efforts. They really are a special group.

I don't mean to get misty or go all Gene Swindoll on y'all, but I am really proud of these guys.

Agreed.

Never been more proud of a team than I am of this one. What these upperclassmen have overcome both on the field and behind the scenes is incredible. Just tremendous team character...

I go back to this fact that many people don't realize. Since most players sign in November of their junior year, only this true freshman class on our current team was signed coming off a "successful" season. The rest of these guys believed in us enough or were recruited well enough to walk right straight into a shitshow with a divided fanbase that wasn't showing up to games -- many of which were actively against the very coaches attempting to recruit these guys.

From some reason, I thought Bracewell had another year because of a medical redshirt.

Eta: I am correct. He is a 4th year junior, so he can come back if he likes.

Yeah, you're right (and I'm glad you are because Bracewell could help us again out of the pen), but he is a fourth year guy, so the point remains the same.

Thanks for making that point. Guys deserve everything good that comes their way in their athletic careers.

Could we get this photo up on the main screen for a day, and not to exclude the other players, perhaps add a different photo each day until we cover all the players.

I'm proud of these guys as well. They have all overcome a lot in very different ways and they have all grown up as Cohen has grown up over the past 4+ years. Let's hope this gravy train with biscuit wheels keeps plowing down the track.

I've only been a State fan since 2001 when I started school there, so I missed all the glory years of the 80s and 90s. But two of my favorite baseball Bulldogs since I've been following the Bulldogs are in that picture, Pollo and Sam Frost. Both of those guys have worked their asses off the entire time they've been here and it has paid off for them. Frost has gone from a very weak hitting middle infielder who could barely even bunt to a guy who hit almost .300 this season and played very well out of position at 3rd base. And what can you say about Pollo? He has done just about everything for this team. Team's emotional leader, relief pitcher, starting pitcher, outfielder, pinch hitter. I'm so proud of both of those guys. The epitomise what this team is made of and the reason why they are in the CWS.
