Thoughts about the past two weeks or so

How do we ***** slap Michigan in a NYD bowl game and turn around and see all these recruits jump off the bandwagon? I know Diaz and Hud leaving is a factor, but this is ridiculous. <div>It just does not make sense. What happened in the past two weeks to bring such a change? </div><div>Since OM appears to be the benefactor in each of these situations, I've got to wonder if they didn't open up their wallet in a major way. I know all schools have that going on, but this is about as fishy as Camgate was last December. I find the whole turn of events hard to fathom. Let's hope we get the majority of the kids back on board.</div><div>
</div><div>If I'm Mullen, I cancel Tobias' visit. He's known for a long time where he is going. He will be divisive on a recruiting weekend to State.</div><div>I also call Brassell and get a feeling. I only have him come up if there really seems to be a good chance. It's really hard to read him considering all contradictory information.</div>

The guy recruiting you is gone. The one who made commitments to you is no longer there. Give us a chance to prove ourselves to you. If you just decommit and give us a chance we can give you more than they ever will. It will be three or four years before you see the field over there and if Dan leaves, then you will lose out even then. Give us a chance. Decommitt and come to Oxford for a visit. That's all we ask. That's not too much is it? You are one of a very few best players in Mississippi. Don't you deserve to go on a few visits. Jus decommit and give us a shot to show you what OM can do for you?

What'ya say?

Do I believe any of that? Maybe a little. Would I say that if I worked for tsun? You better believe I would.

Would the recruits we have lost to a decomit (nothing more than that so far) get sucked in by those words?

YES.

Now the real work begins. We get them back.

I can recruit talk tsun's side. Now that they have been led away (foolish sheep), we better hope we have the talent to lead them back.

- Recruits usually have fixated in their mind who the superior team is the previous year.
- Ole Miss is getting VERY desperate and focusing all their recruiting energy on our class. It's the only way to gain momentum at this time. This includes various methods, like putting doubt in the recruits minds about our future. Works in the present, but comes back and bites you long term. We'll probably keep all the recruits they are trying to flip in the end except for Brassell. They are pulling out ALL the stops. I know this because I know two of them. They are so down and out they have to use this shock factor.
- These recruits have seen both MSU and Ole Miss have good seasons and win NYD bowl games.
- It is completely fathomable that a recruit just may prefer Ole Miss. An Ole Misser would never concede this about MSU, but that's what makes them, uh, them.
- Coaches departing just creates more chaos. This, more than anything, is a backfiring of our previous losing seasons. Next year this won't mean as much.

There you have it. It's a big deal now, but I predict we keep most if not all of the guys that were realistic to begin with.
