Over in mid-second quarter.
Don't know about mid-second quarter, but this is definitely one of the mismatches this weekend along with:
3A - Elmhurst IC over Carlinville
4A - Rochester over Johnsburg
6A - Prairie Ridge over SHG
Some posters will obviously add to this list but if they subtract from it, it will go to show that they are not very astute when it comes to evaluating high school football.
amen ehe teams picked to lose are fully capable of winningCould be better than expected. Let us not forget PFN put a brutal beating on Bradley (who was a favorite in the top "competitive class") and ESL needed some last minute heroics to pull one out over GBN. I think this one is going to be closer than people are giving credit for.
He was going before Sunk was hired...right?PFN coach is familiar with ESL having coach at Collinsville. in early 2000's. Although Collinsville only made playoffs 1 year under Kane. Question is do PNF have better football players. Or will ESL play as if they are playing Collinsville. No prediction here just hope the Flyers pUT one good game to gather and play some good football.

PR and SHG is a mismatch?? I agree with 3A and 4A, but I think 6A should be a heck of a game. If the 6A game is a great match-up, does that mean you are not very astute when it comes to evaluating high school football?
Agree with everything here. I'm pulling for ESL to win big just to put this entire thing to rest once and for all. The PFN kids got heart, and none of it is their fault, but I just want to preemptively stop the what-ifs.I too think it will be a good game.
All the other crap aside Fenwick's only loss was to what looks to be a great Loyola team.
If PN could hang with the Friars they must be pretty strong.
Plus they now will be highly motivated.
I'm pulling for ESL for a variety of reasons but I think it will be a lot closer than people think.
This is correct.Either ESL or GBN would (will for ESL) handle PFN. The title game for 7A was in round 2 in my opinion.

Love love love defense like that. It really challenges the players to step up.I really enjoy watching this defense play. The coach last week summarized well: they play one on one receivers and bring everyone else. You can't do much with that but duck.
I have seen ESL score in bunches - maybe all cylinders hit at once on the big stage. I think it could happen.
Should be a good one I'm excited
I humbly and happily accept your prediction lol we will seeLike I posted in another thread.
My boys team played Fenwick and ESL.
At Fenwick, bad play calling saw us lose by 7.
Against ESL, the boys could barely breathe and we lost by 32 or something.
Richie ran all over Fenwick, with over a hundred yards. Not sure of the exact amount.
Against ESL, Richie had 7 or 17 yards. Either way, ridiculous.
Fenwick lost to PFN in overtime, meaning these teams are pretty dang equal.
I don't see this even being a game. But again, this is just my opinion. I suppose I could be way off.
