1. That dude was a freak.

2. Not sure which is more weird- Tom Goode being associated with and recruting for Ole Miss, or Rockey Felker being associated with Tennessee.

3. Am I the only one that noticed the autographed picture of Ron Polk on Goode's wall?

4. Why would anyone from Mississippi want to go to Oklahoma? OK, yes, it's a great program, great tradition, etc, but if someone from Mississippi wanted to get out of state and play for a similar program, why not Alabama or LSU? Heck, going to Texas or somewhere like USC makes more sense than Oklahoma because those are in pretty cool cities. But Norman?

5. Barry Switzer is a dumbass. OK, so you have this freak show of a running back, who is without a doubt your best player, and you're going to be hard on him because "other people have been in the program for three years and worked hard". What? Could you imagine a coach telling someone like Walter Payton that they had to "wait their turn" because other people have been there longer even though they weren't as good. Oh wait, Jackie Sherrill did that with Jerious Norwood. I digress- if you have someone that good, you play them and start them. Why? Because it's all about winning. Or at least it should be. That's why they were paying for those players. If the upperclassmen have a problem with it, you tell THEM to move on. You don't ride the *** of your best player just because he happens to be a freshman- especially if there is areally, really, really high potential of that player getting homesick.

6. Ken Fairley is a snake. What's really sad is that no one was able to distance the two. This is exhibit 529 that the real problem with college football isn't the programs, it's the agents. That's who the NCAA should be going after moreso than the schools. I always wondered how USM got in the picture with Dupree. Now I know.

7. Yet another excellent 30 for 30. ESPN has done a lot of crap stuff over the years, but ESPN has nailed it with these movies. I really think that this is a great show to show to these high school football recruits in high school and college to show them that these advisors or whatever are always out for themselves and to steer clear of people like Ken Fairley.

8. Really weird seeing Highway 19 on the film. I have been down that stretch of road before, and I had no idea that's where the civil rights workers were killed.

9. I remember watching the South Panola/Meridian game on TV a couple of years ago when my uncle, who lives in Arizona was over at my parents house. He saw me watching the game and goes "Why are you watching this ****?" and then I went on to explain how South Panola had been undefeated for several years, and how Meridian had this great QB, and this was for the State Championship. He kind of blew me off, and he and the rest of my family went into another room to watch some movie. While they were watching the movie, my family was asking me for score updates, and before long, they came into the room to watch the game with me. We all started to get into it, and before long, my uncle came into the room and started to get into it to. Of course, Meridian won. But I think my uncle learned how big high school football is here, and I think this movie showed the nation how high school football is here in Mississippi. It's something that everyone here can connect to. I know in Madison, we still talk about Espy, Buckles, Bobo and years from now we'll talk about Tobias and Joe Price. High school football is something that pretty much everyone can afford, and it is something that communities can rally around and support. And having the legendary players is something that just about every town has- big and small. I'm sure that they still talk about Bumphis and Russell Copeland in Tupelo, and in Weir they talk about Dicenzo and the McKinley's, and in Hamilton, they probably still talk about Don Smith and Kenny Roberts. And they still talk about Marcus Dupree in Philadelphia.

Guess this means you get a slight discount on gas charges Saturday.
