Thoughts on Wisky game being prime time...

You know how people moronically schedule things during the football season without checking the schedule? Well someone scheduled an event the Saturday evening of the Wisconsin game.

The schedule of games looks pretty lean for that weekend. Just wondering our chances of being the Primetime game, for those that have a good feel for TV scheduling.

The only games I saw were the Michigan - Michigan State game and the Florida - LSU game. Penn State - Northwestern is already slotted for the 11 AM time.

I know the feeling, I gotta go to a bachelor party, in Lincoln, with non Husker fans. I guess I'll convert them

fwiw - Penn St at Ohio St is 3:30 eastern kickoff on Oct 28 on Fox.

I am assuming that is the marquee matchup of the day.

Last big, and I mean BIG game in Lincoln, prime time or not, was maybe vs OU in 2001?

Would be great if the Wisconsin game this year was that colossal.

If the season gets crazy it could, but only in hindsight. There's a realistic shot both teams come in undefeated, but no one will be taking NU seriously, and Wiscy would still be considered a dark horse at that point.

You don't have to attend that event.

I don't remember which game it was, but a few years ago I was invited to a bachelor party that was during a Husker game. The guy was more of an acquaintance than a friend, but I didn't go. Found out later that only 2 people went to his bachelor party and the 2 people that went were pissed because the place they went to didn't have a tv to watch the game.

A bachelor party with people that aren't Husker fans are different, but for Husker fans I never understood why people schedule things during games. IMO they're just asking for things like that to happen.

Better be the loudest game in memorial stadium history. I'll be there foaming at the tip, hope the blues stay home and the loud and crazy come out. Tired of losing to them! Let's put the N back in the map. GBR

Yeah, I explained that, they may have a boring time watching me stare at the tv. I'd choose to not go, but they are good friends I barely see.

If you barely see them...will they even notice you if you aren't there? One Husker fan trying to help another Husker fan. Winking

Reminds me of the Seinfeld wedding in India. We'll schedule it for this ridiculous situation that way nobody will come.

Maybe 2007 USC. Game Day was here.

But I know most of us just want to forget that game.

Well if you are talking about big... BIG as the feeling before the game you are dead wrong! September 15th, 2007 vs USC was a Game Day destination... I was so pumped about that game! It was the season after the Michigan bowl win and we were on the up and up. That was a BIG game, but we got our a$$e$ handed to us that game, and the USC Oline made Suh look like a chump

To be fair, the whole Husker defense was hot garbage that season. And Kevin Cosgrove made Pelini and Mark Banker look like the Lombardi and Shula.

Two highly ranked teams in 2001 when OU (defending NC's) came to town, a lot of hype and was nationally a HUGE game, and the feeling in Lincoln was sky high, especially after the previous year's loss in Norman. In 2007, most figured USC would win handily and they did. Night game against USC added a bit of drama, but just on a scale of comparison, 2001 was bigger, and a WAY better game.
