West Columbus at Whiteville

Luke Little and company will score as much as they want in this one. My Vikings do not have a chance and I have come to realize that. Nothing will change this season.

Whiteville 50 West Columbus 6

St. Pauls at Red Springs

Do not sleep on Red Springs. They are much better than you think. They are the spoiler, so to speak, of the conference. The Bulldogs become a little deflated this week after wins over Byrd and West Bladen.

Red Springs 21 St. Pauls 14

Fairmont at South Robeson

Will Fairmont humble itself enough to give mercy to South Robeson after a 1-3 start with looming frustrations? Let's hope so. This one, much like several other games in the conference, could get out of hand early. Caulder and his receiving core have a big night in this game.

Fairmont 56 South Robeson 12

East Columbus at South Columbus

I feel sorry for Coach Huey and his gators, but it will not get any easier for them; at least not this week. South Columbus Running Back Dennis Leggett may rush for 300 yards in this one. Stallions will roll.

South Columbus 52 East Columbus 0

I believe you're right on the picks.

Question? Did East Col and South Robs JV teams have to fold? I heard that yesterday. If that's the case it's going to be a while before both schools get back to being competitive.

RS is undisciplined from what I was told.....Dont know how true that is because they have always sparked a professional young life in my eyes....

I vote St. Pauls to capture the bacon versus " The Springs, " as they were monikered back in the day, probably because it was a " hot spot " because of the naturally hot , refreshing, and relaxing hot springs, and three times a year they turned a reddish , orange-ish shade, probably causing someone to remark, " We should name this beautiful and relaxing spot Red Springs. "

I don't know if South Robeson played a jayvee contest this season. East Columbus did and defeated Trask 28-0. Unfortunately, the Gators will not be playing a conference JV schedule again this season. Possibly due to injuries on varsity level. I do know freshman QB took snaps in last Friday's game against Jones Senior. Have to say that so far that is a positive for West Columbus. JV team has not won, but at least they are able to continue to field one.
