Those teams got crushed as well. Just putting it in perspective. It ain't just RU that has had big troubles against this D

BYU. was. 12. For 28 for. 55yds passing. 105 total yes for the game
Oregon st. Was 9 for 20 for 79 yds passing. 138 total yds
Maryland was. 10 for 36. For. 76 yds pass

RU. had surpassed those totals by the end of the 3Q

Through the first 3 quarters, Michigans score margin over Rutgers has exceeded that of the aforementioned three teams. Which metric do you think matters more?

Based on that photo, Flood needs to get in the gym and put some bulk on. [laughing]

Since you're obviously a close friend or family member of Foold, how many concussions has he sustained in his career? His decision making process is baffling so that's the only explanation I have.

Quarterback is not good but there is no pass rush either. Only 11 sacks on year.

Laviano belongs in a spread offense with 1-2 reads then run. Jet sweeps to Grant. Bubble screens to Grant. Gash 'em up the gut if they open up the box. Laviano could get consistent yards on a zone read.

and yet another game with under 100 passing yards from our starter, yet there are people who actually think it's not worth it to see how ANYONE else could do?

Sorry, but giving Rettig garbage time when the team has already quit isn't exactly an audition. If Flood hates Rettig so much, put someone else in... just try something different. If Flood really wants Laviano to learn, he probably would learn more from watching a few series than being involved in ridiculously ineffective first halves for another game.

Yeah. 97 yards is not effective. But how many QBs have been effective against that d this year? Especially with the o line we have.

I would hope my coaching staff would look at all the factors in making a decision like this. Only a moron would make a decision in a vacuum and base their decision based on one statistic. Yeah let's see how Laviano plays against the 86 bears? He only could pass for 10 yards and the team had 1 first down the whole game? Yeah it's the QBs fault. The backup should be able to do better... You want your coaches making decisions based on this.... Ugghh

The OP had a long post recently trying to argue that this year's results are actually slightly better than last year's. Since sticking to that argument after today's debacle would really point out what an idiot he is, he has to dig deeper into the stats to find a piece of flotsam to grab onto..

I still stick to that post... And today's results actually add more validity to what I ws saying. Before today the results indicated the team had performed about the same as last year maybe slightly better. In my discussion I had made it clear that my expectations for the season was that there would be a drop off in the performance on the field this season for a number of reasons, mostly due to the youth of the team, especially at the QB position. With today's loss, the season now shifts to being one game worse than last year and this is exactly what I was projecting the year to be. Anyone who expected better was delusional. As another poster mentioned. Vegas had us as having 4.5 wins this year. We seem to be right on track for that

"Yeah. 97 yards is not effective"

Judging by the way you rate Rettig based on 7-8 minutes of garbage time, your own logic doesn't explain why Laviano continued to start after a 31 yard game.

Today's game was record breaking compared to the previous one.
