Hines and Jordan have struck out a combined 148 times in 446 AB's. Jordan has 76 K's. Hines has 72 K's. Put that in perspective. That's 148 outs which is akin to 5.5 games and is one strikeout in every 3 AB's. Hines has just not improved much since his freshman year. His BA (.249) is now below Amani Larry (.256). BTW, here's something that may surprise you, Larry has struck out 37 times compared to Mershon who has struck out 38. I would never have thought that and there's only 7 AB's difference between the two.

Edited: They are now in the MSU history books for K's in a season. They have surpassed David Heyman who had 71 back in 1996 and Jordan Westburg who had 69 back in 2019. Hines is now 3rd in K's for a career. He's currently at 194 only behind Heyman (224) and Wes Rea (205). He has a chance to pass Wes.

Pitchers don't seem to care that Hines and Jordan have power. They know what's going on with those two.

Right, this guy can't hit SEC Pitching either, so this doesn't matter...

Tournament OPS (so far):
Hujsak 1.571
Merson 1.390
Larry 0.917
Kohler 0.817
Chance 0.377
Powell 0.182
Jordan 0.000
Hines 0.000
Long 0.000

Jordan, Hines, and Long have contributed quite literally nothing at the plate this week.

The silver lining is that if the pitchers can keep it up, and Jordan and/or Hines can start producing again, whoa buddy.

If I was better looking, I could be Kelsey Plum's rebound guy, but I don't like my chances there either.

It’s all mental and it’s spiraling with Jordan. He looks like he wants to cry out there and pouts after each at bat. He doesn’t even look mad, he literally looks defeated and miserable. Not sure that’s a easy fix. He might be one of those change of scenery type players and turn it around in the minors. SEC and good pitching has stumped him this year and it’s only going to get better each game. I really hope he does find it again.. hate to see a player so miserable playing a game that should be fun and every child’s dream. I know it’s hard but he has to make it fun again and stop the pouting. It’s a drain on the team when someone is like that also. He needs to let it all go and have some fun, then the game will slow back down.

Hines needs to eat a lot…… lol

DJ is still batting in the mid 300's. They will get it worked out. Good batter always does eventually. It takes just one good hit.

The title made me laugh.

But why does part of me think that if @Shmuley posted it he might would say FFFAARRRTT and tinkle though…

And Hadad hit on the point we’ve all been making. It’s not just the outs. These guys aren’t making productive outs, and worse yet, they’re not even battling pitch counts. Nearly every one of their astronomically high strikeouts has been on a 1-2 or 0-2 count, and their at bats aren’t getting anything at all done for State

This isn’t like a kicker going into a slump and missing 5-6 straight FGs during the season. Their play would be like a kicker whiffing the ball entirely for a month straight due to slipping on the grass and falling on his a$$

Yes, and if a frog had wings, . . . . . . well, we all know how that goes.
