VIDEO AND SCOREBOARD WORK CONTINUES

Throughout the summer and into the early fall, we communicated regularly in this column about the progress being made on the video display board at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. We are in the process of skinning the board and providing artwork for the back side of the board.

The Laurel, Miss., based company that constructed that board, Capturion Network, is now helping us with a new video board at Dudy Noble Field, Polk-DeMent Stadium and a new scoreboard at the MSU Soccer Field. Both should be completed in the coming weeks.

A high definition video board, larger than the current video display at baseball, will provide a better fan experience at that facility, and a larger scoreboard with more advertising possibilities will be available at soccer.

I'm definitely not big on the current structure.

It in no way shape or form fits in with the rest of the facility.

What they SHOULD do is just make it look like another big trailer with a screen in the back......that would be classic

(certainly with an access panel) they could sell ad's and pay for the upgrade and more

would it be better for a young guy who doesn't have much money to contribute $100 to the Bulldog Club..OR..buy the basic football season ticket for about the same amount? Note that Byrne enumerates those two in each of his weekly messages, and buying season tickets is #1, and joining the Bulldog Club is #2. So guess maybe my question has already been answered...even if an individual buys a season ticket and doesn't attend any games, it's better than joining the BC at that level. Hell, buy the damn ticket and send it to someone who will attend the game, and put a butt in the seat.

that I need to carry through on my promise to myself for 2009: (1) travel to vegas; (2) go to the new templeton jim walter complex; (3) take a templeton; (4) preflush, carefully extract a portion of said templeton from the bowl using appropriate protective gear; (5) locate the exterior signage for said facility; (6) apply the extracted templeton to the "templeton" portion of said signage.
