The #1 RB in the state will grace you with his presence Friday night. But dont forget it's plenty of star power other than him. The super sophomore Big play Gabe Stephens with numerous power 5offers. Not to mention he's a 4star recruit via 24/7 sports 6'4 195lb LB/WR. How does swain match that? Easy they can't so folks sit back and watch the show. Watch the Raptors run across that muddy field like it's a track. This is David vs. Goliath but this time goliath is knocking blocks off.
Tell the town a beast is loose and it's Raptor with million dollar swag.

MICS does a phenomenal job with their kids as do many charter schools and sometimes said schools serve a purpose and are what some students need. But that still doesn't make it right for them to play with the traditional boundary defined public schools. I'd respect charters alot more if they were in their own league and weren't stripping funding from traditional public schools, but that finger must be pointed at the legislature and isn't the kids fault. It is funny at the number of people I see complain about the charter issue to only support representatives that support charter schools.

I don't think people actually fear the Raptors as much as they fear what Rich Blackman will say if his team wins....

Good luck to MICS in the 1AA playoffs....Sounds as though MICS is attracting a lot more kids since they've already moved up to the 1AA playoffs in only a few short years since they opened....

Charlotte is the largest city in the state with just over 800,000 people. No city has over a million in NC.

One lost was a forfeit, but even in defeat. Those teams left knowing that rabbits foot. In there pocket saved them. That's why Thomas Jefferson had there whole coaching staff. Was at our last game scouting a team you just played. That folks is called fear to drive a hour. To watch the greatest show on a Friday night. SWAIN go ahead create a mud puddle and watch us walk on water.

The school is actually located in Mt Holly right off Highway 16 just north of Charlotte and in Gaston County. A lot of questions came up when student athletes that were formerly at Charlotte high schools ended up at MICS after freshman year playing sports. With the new transfer rule from the NCHSAA last year that would appear to be void but apparently some students were admitted before that during the school year year which questions the lottery and waiting list that the school has.

Robbinsville and swain see some of the nicest cars every made come through here 8 months of the year. That tin can you driving aint going shock us. I've seen Lamborghini Ferrari and much more this summer in Robbinsville along.

I expect every person on this site posting is a voter. I bet almost all of your reps vote approvals on all charter school items that come before the state legislature because they look after the other reps in their party (scratching backs on pork barrel politics). The reason the NCHSAA is not stronger on charters is because of those reps that have made it clear that they should not be treated any different than any other school. Check your state representative and senators voting record in Raleigh on charters.

Remember, when two 1A schools down east complained about their conference and the NCHSAA would not change it. Their representatives had it changed in a legislative amendment without contacting the NCHSAA. The schools were actually moved to a new conference. Ripple effect screwed it up for several schools but the reps did not care, they took care of "their" schools.

Calling for some snow Thursday evening. 1 to 2 inches of rain today with more rain the next 3 days. No artificial turf in Swain. Just remember, when everyone else is getting rain Swain will be the first to get get snow. The football Gods are aligned for perfect Mountain football.

Its a nice town to grow up in but not to spend the rest of your life in. I don’t see how people do it when there aren’t any decent opportunities for advancement here. Unless you want to work at a blue collar job for the rest of your life then Rville is the place to be, and if not, stay clear of this place.
