Agree with all except that last point - at Pitt the garages were full of tailgaters - you work with what you got...
I'm surprised. Thought it was a fire code thing. I remember tailgating at the top of a parking deck at UNC.
Now that does not sound like much fun. It's like inviting people over for a cookout and holding it in my garage.
I remember seeing parking deck tailgaters at Ohio State as well as at Wisconsin. The Wisconsin band even played to the parking deck people after the game...almost a "6th quarter"
My guess is raising the price of the second pass so that people can't resell as easily. I imagine people were getting 2 passes and selling 1. Rutgers can track all ticket data from SeatGeek sales and other partners.
Below grade or one with walls I could see them saying no.

1-It’s packed.
2-It’s hot on the pavement.
3-Takes forever to get out of and if making a left onto river road forget getting out with the pedestrians crossing into the park.
4-Takes forever to get in especially if coming from Rt 18 end with all the pedestrians crossing from the park into the stadium.
5-With the parking stalls painted you can hardly fit a car in a spot and if you do you can hardly open your door without dinging the car next to you or having your car dinged.
6-Forget bring a bigger SUV.
7-Green lot uses same exit causing gridlock as people battle for position exiting.
8-People driving down the hill to river road pass over the double yellow line on the wrong side of the road and then try to cut back to the right at the bottom causing crashes.
9-Costs way too much for all the negatives.
Well, RU finally published the donation levels required for various parking lots per pass and it's not going to be pretty for most, as has already been discussed, as per the link below, with the key tables for each lot below. We have 12 tix, which require a $150/seat donation for $1800 total donation and last year that almost met our $2000 required donation level for 3 yellow lot passes. This year that goes up from $2000 to $3750 for those 3 passes; the actual yellow lot pass price remains at $350 per pass. An extra $1750 divided by 12 tix is about $150 more per season ticket. That's a pretty big jump, but our crew loves the yellow lot, so I'm assuming we're going to just have to pay for it, with me probably having to foot at least half of the increase, since the donations are all in my name and nobody else gets PP's for the donations so it only seems fair for me to have to pay more. Not a big deal and not unexpected. Just wait for the cost increases for hoops with the renovations.

Good catch - scarlet is the only lot where the donation isn't just a multiple of number of passes going up in equal increments for each additional pass, as it goes from $2.5K to $5K to $10K for 1, 2, and 3 passes. No other lot does that and it makes no sense to me.
What's the point of even having season tickets? There are always plenty of tickets available for any and all Rutgers home games and bowls (the school's Pinstripe Bowl ticket allotment didn't sell out). I'd rather just buy one of the $20 tickets Rutgers dumps on StubHub and donate when the program actually deserves my money vs. being locked into doing so.
I get trying to increase revenue, but I'm not sure they've fully analyzed the impact of the major jumps in parking donations, as these jumps are likely to lead some groups to reduce season tickets, which in many cases would lead to less overall revenue vs. last year, plus, less fans, which is something I think the program should really think about. Unless they're assuming the demand is there for the premium lots and that more people will downgrade lots and keep the same number of tickets than will just decrease tickets/passes and keep the same lots.
Or maybe groups will use Uber more. I could see some groups dropping down 1 pass and having a few folks show up via Uber from some free lot close to the stadium and squeezing in a bit more at their tailgates. Or park at the RAC and take the shuttle to the lot.
You obviously don't tailgate with a decent sized group who enjoys the tailgates and the games.
Many many years ago I bought bricks three consecutive years, then my rep told me that the brick purchase would not be considered a donation anymore so I stopped, and had not checked thereafter
Tailgate? This poster is the multi-name troll that has listed itself from NJ, Miami, Florida, a Caribbean island, London, Staten Island, San Diego, South Beach, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Alabama, Hoboken, etc. Earlier in the season, it also listed itself as a Northwestern fan and a Virginia Tech fan. I doubt it's ever attended a Rutgers home game.

I park in Black, and see a substantial number of people who park, grab their gear, and head off to another lot. That's a bunch of money to lay out just to tailgate in another lot. I guess I've failed at life
Parking at the RAC then transporting stuff (chairs, food, drinks) to a tailgate on the bus sucks.
Usually much easier to just walk it over.

If you aren't bringing anything then parking at the RAC works great.
I highly doubt the stadium will be enlarged at all in 25-30 years, if ever. Upgraded amenities, yes. More seats no.
High demand comes from sustained high level success, and that’s just not our fit in the CFB ecosystem. The school hyped a phony waiting list and borrowed for expansion it’s still paying for.
It paid off re: Big10 invite but barring another major leap up in weight class and demand (unlikely) the stadium will be big enough for our needs.
I sent an email to Stephanie Lombardo, Shawn Tucker's Executive assistant at the RFund. She is the contact on the Brick Order Form. We're good!
Her reply:
- Yes, all brick purchases will go towards priority points and parking for the upcoming football season.

No matter how many years you have the donation requirement must be met.......The years are used in your priority point calculation which determines the order that people get to select their choice of parking lots.
