You can say what you want about kyk, but he would be the biggest rutgers booster of all time if he hit PowerBar guaranteed
Haha fact. If I hit the powerball for $1 Billion id put it all in a 30 year treasury at 3.8% since i wouldnt be greedy. Id make $38,000,000/yr 100% risk free. At minimum $10,000,000/yr would be dedicated to me buying players like theyre cattle and 100% acting like in a GM. It would be fun.

after taxes you only get a measly $500 mil. or so though . (not counting state)

"With a federal tax rate of 37%, a Mega Millions winner would pay a total of $499.5 million in federal taxes and pocket $850.5 million by 2051 if the total $1.1 billion payout was chosen. If the $707.9 million cash option was taken, the winner would pay $261.9 million in federal taxes and take home $446 million.Jan 10, 2023"

There are non RU fans and others who truly say they want RU to win, but they would rather say they were right, once out of 5 or 10 times. You're never going to win against those flamethrower, they are wrong 30 times and take victory laps the other 5 times when RU loses a game.

Negativity sells, which is why so many posters who see the commitments and see the good news, are always absent from these threads.....too many names and posters to count, unfortunately.

This is spot on. You see this during the live game threads and all the "fans" come out. After all the basketball board is free, so they can bash away.

We have all seen tremendous strides in our upcoming recruiting classes.

Who on the board hit the lottery & has become RUs leading Bagman?

Well, it’s not me. However, I will say truthfully - I am donating considerably more than ever this year and over the next 5 years. The new folks they hired in major gifts and fundraising, if you don’t know Ben, Gabe, Stephanie, Samantha, Mike, these are genuinely good people and care abt the school, the programs and its future. I’ve had a great time getting to know all of them and I don’t know who’s got the millions (well, I’ve met our big ones who have it haha) but RU is at least getting my thousand-ishs haha.

This is the real answer. It takes a village. A few high rollers and enough others like NYSF that are making a considerable difference. It is working. NIL has given Rutgers a seat at the big boy table, at least with basketball. Football is going to take some time. But it can be done.

Meh.

I’ve watched enough college sports to know there’s a jump from high school to college.

I celebrate these recruiting victories with people via text. And then we watch everything play out.

There’s no guarantee that the jump to the next level is a good one. Also, these are verbals, we haven’t actually signed them yet.

Most of us were around for that 2012 Rutgers Football recruiting class.

Let’s get them on campus playing games and go from there.

I’ll never understand it. Future is so bright here, for both football and men’s and women’s basketball, and all other sports. Seems like we had a lot of fits and starts over the past two decades, but now it seems like all things are pointing up.

Schiano 2.0 has a much tougher job than Schiano 1.0. He may or may not get it done, but no doubt if he doesn’t, he will leave an infrastructure and program in a much better place.

Like Greg 1.0 did with his early classes (ahem Ray Rice..ahem), Pike caught lightening in a bottle with Miles, Geo, Caleb and Ron.

If I were comparing that 06 team to the bball culture changers, I’d liken Geo to a Brian Leonard, a truly special leader. Ron to Ray. Caleb to Devraun Thompson. And Miles to the McCourtys. And Cliff to Britt (on the field only, he’s a McCourty off of it).

This. One of RUs biggest faces in the fundraising department barely called me for 3 years. One of the new guys shows up, does his job to interact with me and long story short I am strongly considering a 6 figure gift now.

Give the man some time....takes time to build his roster..
Agree. Recruiting players for Schiano’s Wing T vision is harder than finding palm trees in Siberia. But he deserves another twenty years here because he did finish third in the Big East 20 years ago.
