WTF is he thinking scolding the Oregon kid at the end of the game like that? Who the heck does he think he is? Coach K, who coached Christian Laettner for years, telling a kid at the pinnacle of his athletic career he shouldn't have taken that shot at the end, seriously? I like coach K, but he acted like a little ***** about it, then lied at the presser. Soooo glad they got sent packing if that's who he really is. If he really had a problem with it, maybe mention in a non confrontational manner at another time, not there.

Its not like he drove to the hoop and threw down a monster dunk. He took a half-*** shot from 26 feet with 2 or 3 seconds left on the shot clock and it went in. Teams/players do that all the time - and way more often then the number of times they just let the shot clock expire and had the ball to the ref. And frankly, since it was Duke, I bet 80% of the country loved it. I hope Oregon kid told him where to stick it.

F Duke and their whiney coach. He has a player that purposely trips opponents, and dives on the floor trying to get steals (when the opposing team is dribbling put the clock, down by 15 with a few seconds left) F Dook, and all their fake-*** fans around here who have zero ties to the school, and can't find Durham on a map.

Sorry, but Coach K has earned respect as a world-class coach and if he thinks someone is show boating, he can say it.

There are very few more accomplished and respected coaches in all of basketball.

I don't love Duke, but I can respect what they've accomplished and maybe the Oregon kid can learn a lesson from him.

Then why is he lying after the fact?

Nobody, in the history of this world, has ever earned the right to act like a douchebag.

Exactly what do you think K looked like last night at the presser afterwards? I'll spare you the trouble of thinking about it....a whiny little two faced *****.

How dare someone not act like a robot at all times.

For the record, I actually 100% agree on time and place and don't think he should have said anything to the kid aside from "good job". I have no idea what was or wasn't said. Regardless congrats to the Ducks and best of luck to them. Sweet 16 in a down year isn't too bad.

My posts in this thread were entirely directed to the rant by 463.

You do have an idea. He corrected the kid and lied about it after. It really is pretty simple.

It was painfully obvious watching the little rat squirm that he was lying through his teeth, and this was after he had some time to think about it even. K is one of those guys (Cowherd reference warning) who's a "great guy when his kid is hitting homers in little league"

You really think I bothered sticking around to watch handshakes after my team was eliminated? The tv was off as soon as that last three went through.

Interesting you are here commenting on something you claim to know nothing about..... Earlier posts in this exact thread would suggest different. Here to defend the hypocritical whiny K when his actions are not defensible.

First I was commenting on 463's angry rant that I thought was funny.

Secondly, I was commenting on how showing emotion is not wanted in sports.

Coach K should worry more about Grayson Allen's poor sportsmanship -- which has been on display on the court the entire season, and is something that he basically has direct control over -- and worry less about what Dillon Brooks is doing, someone who he has no control over and will likely never play again.

Just doing the verbal Woody Hayes on the poor kid. Amazes me how people who have achieved greatness in their profession lose it when they personally start to feel they are not as much in control as they were when they were at the top of their game.

Kid just doesn't take **** from teams that taken shots at him all year long, and you and all the other butt hurt fans lap up the Duke hate spewed by ESPN for ratings...
Classless post. Show some integrity.

Of course Coach K is one of the best ever, but his little high horse at the end was embarrassing. Its always nice to Duke get beat, convincingly.

Cbs drops the audio, and it proves coach K was lying and a bitter whiner. But yes, let's just go with the narrative that he is some kind of God.

Poor coach K used "responded incorrectly" in his weak press release today. "I am a sore-losing liar" was apparently too honest.

I guess I'm not seeing where the controversy is. Legendary coach (who has been highly successful and respected by NBA all stars besides what he has done at the college level) tells an opposing player in a calm way (almost has a smile on his face) that he is too good of a player to be an idiot (my words, not his). In a vacuum, there is nothing wrong with this, and may help Brooks in the long run. I understand it could have been done at a different time, but it's not like he ripped the kid a new one on national TV.
I also think G Allen should have been suspended by Duke for his first trip during the season, so I'm not condoning that.
