Good question, I was thinking the same. With the two Williams in and Oskar we would be at 13, unless I missed something.

Your not.
They messed up I think.
The scholarship chart pinned above puts us at 12 with Austin + Oskar as #13.

The last pod they even said we done after Oskar and the expected Austin addition.
Not sure what changed and why they went into it.

Wanted to apologize, you guys are right. Austin committed a couple weeks ago and we had this pod pre-recorded to be released when he finally announced. Some of the things we discussed are clearly out of date at this point.

It always great to have competition to start and competition for minutes. Simpson and Williams will fight it out.

Still funny that so many posters like @Scangg took the mod comment that "Rutgers is looking to bring in a starting 2 guard" literally when it is apparent it was an opinion. From the Podcast, "IMO Austin Williams starts".

The mods repeatedly said the staff was looking for a starting 2 guard. If you want to choose to not believe them, that's fine. Do you think they are just making it up? What would be the logic there?

It was an opinion. The podcast says, "IMO Williams starts". Not, the staff brought him in to start at the 2. He has the ability and experience to start. Still has to out play Simpson.

No way he starts over Simpson
He adds good depth and his maturity will help
Good handle but not nearly as athletic as Derrick and a 30% career 3 point shooter
He will help, but he will not be able to bully guards in the Big

Geez. Nobody including the kids know if he starts. Ridiculous Richie even went there. He didn’t have one practice. Let them take the trip. Hopefully he plays and Pike will figure it out. Enjoy the commit. We improved.

So.Williams is coming off of surgery, sitting out last year, and with unowned ability to play at a fast pace, will start over Simpson?Richie is way off base here IMO.
Shocked if Derek does not start .He can be a star for us & showed what he can do the last 5 games for us last year.

Simpson shot selection and 3 point shooting are issues too

Both might work out but If you think they’re not issues you’re wish casting the player you HOPE Simpson is rather than looking at how he player last season
Put me in this camp. Until proven otherwise I am casting Simpson as a 15-20MPG time of guy that backs up both guard positions. Someone who can have a great impact on a game one day and give valuable backup minutes on another.

By no means am i writing off the possibility he becomes an above average starting B1G guard. I just need to see him improve a lot this year. Could happen, but far far from a given.
