To the awesome dude in the bookstore just prior to the Egg bowl

Chances are slim he reads this, but nevertheless I wanted to thank the dude.

I live in Oklahoma and took my boy to the Egg bowl (he's as big a fan as I am). We go to bowl games and others if they are close (e.g., UPig and Memphis). He was super excited. I ordered tix the moment the single game tix were available. What I got was nosebleed. On game day, I was trying to trade up with whomever was willing to sell them in order to get better seats. I was willing to pay premium so that my son could actually see the game. While in the bookstore, some guy asked if I needed extra tickets. I told him I was willing to buy them so that my boy could watch. He looked at my maroon and white painted 10-year-old and told me just to take the tickets so long as I promised not to resell to scalpers.

Thanks man.

I like stories like this. My faith in people is super low right now. Bunch of self serving jackasses out there.

Your boy saw a good one! Never in doubt. Egg Bowls have been fun as hell under Mullen.

I can't explain how much it grates my nerves hearing stories about all of these sports pedophiles, people complaining about an organization giving a family of a deceased soldier a new home, and so many other instances... it's beyond depressing..<div>
</div><div>so whenever I hear things like this, it helps me feel better knowing that the world isn't entirely going to hell.</div>

They have all said it was one of the most fun experiences they have had. We have some good fans. Naturally we have our idiots cause that's the numbers. But the whole experience was taken note of by these folks.

Makes me proud. Being a State fan isn't for the faint of heart but we are with them. Few sidewalk fans......

Even though I've heard the typical, "all they're doing is celebrating murderers.. what about the iraqis?" type comments on a regular basis, it still doesn't make hearing/reading them any better. I just don't get how those people think some times.

back in 2004 for basketball when tickets were in high demand, except, he didn't have a ticket to get in. I think it was the Xavier game of that year where people were trying to scalp tickets for around 200 bucks. <div>

We have endzone tickets through BDC. Honestly, these games mean a lot to my boy and me. Since we live so far away from bulldog country, every game we go to is a road trip. He really is a loyal little fan too. During my first tour in Iraq, I asked him to keep my cowbell safe. Every time I spoke to him, he told me he was protecting it. Five years later and that boy lives and breathes State. That dude at the bookstore really made the Egg bowl a super awesome experience for him, and for that, I'll forever be grateful. Crazy thing, he had no way of knowing how far we had traveled or how much that game meant to my son. Good to know there are good folks. Hail State.

At every game, who are willing to give away tickets for free, to other great MSU fans.

That's just how we roll.

I have done this a couple of times with basketball tickets. When I lived in starkville, my dad would give me his four tickets to games he couldn't attend. I would find some state fans looking for scalper tickets and give away what extras I had just to make sure State fans were in those seats.

I've seen things like this happen often and been with people who have given free tickets away. I had 5 extra really good seats behind home plate to a Sunday afternoon SEC game at Dudy Noble this past season, and I saw this guy in the ticket line with his family and gave him mine. I know tickets are like $8 a piece or less and everyone probably would do the same if they were in my shoes at the time, just sharing my story.
