Please post your outlook on the scrimmage you attend today. I will be visiting Phoebus @ Grassfield and Kecoughtan @ Landstown. Where will you be?

HSHS 28, Thomas Dale 0, in a full simulated game.

Don't mis-read this as Thomas Dale is not a good team, because they are. They will certainly make a run in the 6a playoffs again. But the Springers are a special team. Big, and fast. I just don't see them losing a game this season.

I would also like to add that I had the pleasure of the company of some special friends tonight. Hoos05, DanvilleSportsHead, Springers76, BleedingNavy, my brother in law, and an old friend, Frank, (a former Thomas Dale star player).

I tell you forum guys again, make a special effort to meet each other in person. You will make friends with people that share your love of high school football, friends that make our game just that much more special.

I agree DP. Both teams have talent, but Springer76 should be able to crow all season.

Becton (LT) needs to work a bit on his footwork and does not always finish plays, but he just shoves people around. The Springers qb throws very well on the roll out. Run pass option is tough to defend.

Dales running backs are strong and quick. They will indeed make some noise.

Great meeting the vaprep posters. Had a blast. Springer76 please dont let the smile get too big.

Indeed it was a fun night! I really enjoyed meeting all of you guys, I don't think I have ever laughed so much at game! Bleeding Navy, you had me in stitches the whole time! Just imagining your friend with the pony tail going up in God's country with Speedos!
I agree with you and DP with your view on the scrimmage/game last night. Dale has a good team and they are going to have a fine season. HS, as good as they are, have some things to work on in the next 2 weeks before meeting Hermitage! The receivers need to do a better job of catching the ball! I saw too many dropped passes! The offensive line is good now, but they have the potential to be absolutely great! They need more work too!
The Defense.... one of the best HS has had in a long, long time...
I know guys, I'm gonna be cheesing big for the next couple (3 months)! I'll try not to be too obnoxious! There's a lot to be proud of in Springerville and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!
I hope to see all you guys again soon!

Thank God, Jamie did not wear a Speedo, so we were permitted in the stadium. Navy did wear a funky visor with hair attached for the trip home. I guess he likes to remind himself what it was like when he had hair.

We also introduced Navy to a Moore's hot dog. For those of you that don't regularly travel 460 near Lynchburg, Moores is the store with a huge tree that grows through the roof of the entrance porch. And, they have a hot dog chili that is not for the faint of heart. Navy survived, but I'm sure he is being reminded of his experience this morning.

I left and went to LT Woodside it was 1 to 0 before I left. Phoebus is pretty big. A lot of talent. It may be a 3 way in the PD Hampton, Phoebus and Woodside. We will see.

Lake Taylor Defensive front is serious. I think that will be the strength of the team this year as well as a confident QB. They will again be in the mix for a state title. The schedule is a little tougher this year but I'm sure they will be ready. It was alot to a little.
