Todd, what's up with Ethan Bright?

he has been practicing with the team. I think he's supposed to pitch in one of the upcoming scrimmages.

Like a lot of the players, I think Cohen is trying to figure out where everyone best fits the team for the upcoming year. I think Bright's long term future is at first base and maybe third base, but of course with Conner Powers coming back and a couple of seniors like Jarrod Parks and Russ Sneed fighting it out at third, I think that Bright's role for the next season is likely going to be a middle relief pitcher and pinch hitter.

I also heard that Micheal Dixon is likely going to have to have Tommy John surgery and is out for the year. That sucks because he was supposed to be our top candidate to be our closer. I'm thinking that Ben Bracewell will now be the front runner, but you know, a guy like Bright could certainly get the job if he steps up.

He didn't go into it any further but to say that Cohen was going to have a talk with him. Someone went on to post that maybe his uncle was the police officer from Panola county that committed suicide this month or last. I have no clue if that is true or not, but it would make sense.

and this is speculation on my part- but he may be unhappy with the situation that he is in right now. Cohen may want to RS him or something and he doesn't want to do it, wants more playing time, he could simply be homesick, he could be struggling to adjust to college. He is a Freshman, and sometimes they go through things like this.

Now, the suicide could certainly have a lot to do with it as well.

or it could have been that he was arrested and escorted off during bulldawg bash, I saw it and figured it was underage drinking. Never posted anything since i never heard anything else about it, i figured police just let it go or something.

I've heard he's had problems adjusting. Nothing huge, just typical freshman that isn't used to a college conditioning program. I figure Cohen will push the right buttons to help him and the other freshmens that are struggling to get through it.

and I'm pretty sure that Hugh Bright and Ethan Brights family are either not related or not closely related. He was on campus with his family for the LSU game.</p>

is drinking and not getting caught. Cohen probably will pull him aside and try to teach him the fine art of not getting caught.

They are related. They were not close to each other.

Whatever Ethan's situation is (likely booze), it has nothing to do with the death.

Jeff Brantley in the Junction, said "book it" Cohen is the real deal and is driven for success, just a matter of time before he does great things for Msu baseball. May not be this year but it want take long because he works so hard and like he said he's driven to be the best.

Also the freshmen are making some noise so for!

I could see the guy in front of me, the guy to each side of me, and that was about it. Damn, I got to feeling like I was going to end up on a "crowd crushes 40 people to death" youtube video or something.

He has been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules and it was alcohol related. To do it twice was not very smart. Also, you guys are nuts if you think Cohen cares about the new guys "adjusting".

Smart guys don't boot their best power hitting freshman because they got caught twice with booze. Smart guys might teach them a lesson. But they don't boot them.

I was a little worried. But, now that we have the book according to Brantley, we can all just wait for him to be right.

All sarcasm aside, I really don't see what makes his opinion better than Greg Byrnes. Being a good player doesn't make you an authority on coaches, really.
