People are forgetting that without Tommy's mobility, we probably give up 10 sacks a game. It seems like he has to run for his life on most of our passing plays. I hope O'Brien is mobile enough to escape pressure.
I will start the rumor mill. Tommy Armstrong will transfer at the end of the year. He does not get along well with Langsdorf and has been very stubborn when it comes to coaching.

They need to find another QB, maybe a JUCO guy, if anything to give us some decent depth. I'm thinking it will be POB to start, but if for some reason he isn't ready, you still need a good backup, you need depth. Maybe AJ Bush fits that mold, maybe not. You just can't sit through another season of TA.If I'm Mike Riley, I'm on a plane tonight heading to visit a JUCO QB to come in and start next year, Tommy and the rest of Bo's "running backs that throw" need to go.
Because Bo ran this program into the ground.
Tmart and T Armstrong for that last 6 years.
This is not a good recipe for winning.
No way he transfers he will be a senior only has 1 year left. Don't ncaa rules say you have to sit out 1 year? If so he would never see the field again because he would be graduated.Probably would be best for both parties. But it could get ugly...or uglier for Riley/Langsdorf if we have to resort to starting a JUCO QB or POB. I really don't think Riley can endure another losing season.
I go back to what Brain Kelly was going through with Everett Golson:
"We've been working with him. I mean, I don't know," Kelly said. "Sooner or later he's got to take it on himself to take care of the football. I don't know what else to do. We're at that point now where it hurt us in the game, obviously, and he knows it."
Kelly is smart enough to have other options at the QB position so he doesn't have to put up with the BS
You should find a QB like Beathard. He was off his game yesterday, probably because of the cold and wind, but even still didn't do anything to lose the game. Only 3 INT's on the entire year, and also mobile. If you can find the right disciplined QB, a real leader for the team, Nebraska is a totally different team.
The regression from the beginning of the year to now was definitely startling. After the first couple of games, I thought TA was really going to develop this year. He had good form, was going through progressions, throwing the shorter balls much better. Around game 4 or 5, he was still showing better form most of the time, but was occasionally reverting to back foot throws. Yesterday, he was totally back to his old self. I don't know if it was a falling out with the coaches, not enough correction on technique, or something else, but he looked well coached in Game 1 and like an athletically gifted player in dire need of a QB coach in Game 12.
Martinez is literally 3 times the QB TA is. It isn't even close, people need to stop using the two names in the same sentence, unless they are going to say "TM is literally 3 times the QB TA is" because it isn't even close. Anyone who says they would still take TA over TM is not interested in winning football games.

I agree with TA being unfixable. By now, he is what he is. His biggest downfall is getting rattled and making terrible decisions under pressure. What drives me wild - he will constantly forget about his safe, short throws to a back or TE as a check down and throw the ball 50 yds downfield, hoping for a miracle.Tommy is unfixable.
They both made terrible decisions in the passing game. They both have erratic arms. The difference is that TM could take it to the house with his legs. TA isn't that explosive. It's like saying I'll take the electric chair over lethal injection. What's it matter. You're still dead.********.

And he won 9 games right? Neither guy is going to win the B1G. Too many mental mistakes.Except for the whole "First team all BIG" thing for Martinez. Other than that, they are obviously the same.......![]()
Martinez started in conference title games 2 out of the 3 years that he was behind center. Would've been nice to see what he could've done with a healthy senior season. Dude was fun to watch when healthy. And he won 9 games right? Neither guy is going to win the B1G. Too many mental mistakes.
Dear rrt: I'm curious, which you think is a better choice for a QB (pretty much any position, really):Excellent example. We have no options right now.
Or not if he throws on time,, he is late very oftenPeople are forgetting that without Tommy's mobility, we probably give up 10 sacks a game. It seems like he has to run for his life on most of our passing plays. I hope O'Brien is mobile enough to escape pressure.

Option #1, a talented, experienced leader who doesn't listen to his coaches.
OR
Option #2, a young, hungry, less athletic but COACHABLE player.

You do not know to what extent TA may or may not listen to his coaches. This is interweb nonsense.
Good riddance to you! I'm glad you won't be watching! If he is the QB, I am not watching. Been watching 42 years. Fcuking sad....POB must be the guy. Too many throws off the back foot and into triple coverage.
Good riddance. Tmart 2.0.
Nice reply, Tex, you might as well say good riddance to the whole next generation of fans also. No teenager wants to be associated with a .500 program. Hope you're not in upper management or marketing for your company's sake.Good riddance to you! I'm glad you won't be watching!
Well, this could also add up to a lack of leadership on the part of the coaching staff, but you're right, no good answer here. Other than trying something different: new coach or new QB.He is either not listening to the coaches, or he's even worse than we all thought. So which is it? There isn't a good answer between the two here, it's one or the other and both add up to somebody who can't play QB at the D1 level. Sweet.
