You played with poise and discipline. You did everything within yourself to help the team to win. You could of lost focus after the fumble but you didn't! Great job and continue to grow for next year.

He did have a good game. We can win when he plays well.

Sadly, he is too inconsistent to have a full season of quality games....and his ceiling is far below O'Brien's. Thanks for your effort for your 3 seasons at QB, now let's get you ready to play running back next year.

That was the blueprint for how the game plan should be setting TA up for success and playing to his strengths. 20-25 throws is about what you want for him, and more opportunities to hurt the defense with his legs.

Thought he looked faster and more aggressive as a runner. Not quite enough zone-read for me, thought they could have really hurt them a few more times with that play and put the defense in a bad spot as they were jumping the give to the RB. They seem to hold that as a "secret weapon" more than use it as a regular part of their arsenal.

IMO if Tommy is your guy, you owe it to him and your offense to have more option in the game plan for him. He runs it well.

We have to be able to run well enough to force the opposing team to bring a safety down and then be able to pass well enough to exploit those situations. This includes throwing on 1st down some without every husker fan losing their mind about abandoning the run.

Our offensive line isn't going to be good enough for us to run into an 8 man front. We struggled when UCLA did that in the 4th. We need a high percentage pass game to make teams pay for committing an extra defender to play run stop.

I didn't know you are an assistant coach. Pretty bold prediction to state TA will be a running back and a true Freshman will be the starter at QB. Could happen. Not as sure as you seem to be that it will. Qb is a pretty tough position to pick-up quickly. It took Browning, who I believe had a higher rating coming out of high school than POB, most of the year to play well for the Huskies. He only got to play because Petersen did not really have an alternative. UCLA played Rosen, who was pretty good, but the only other choice was Jerry Neuheisel.

I would argue that TA still has a high ceiling. Don't get me wrong. If starts throwing the ball up for grabs again it's over. But isn't that what a ceiling is. The potential for him to take care of the ball in the passing game and beat people with this feet. If he grows up this off season it could be a productive year for him and big red. But I agree POB seems to have the higher ceiling over all. But to come in as a true freshman and start would be rare.

He looked very good running! And fast too! I knew he had some athleticism but didn't know he had that much speed. If only he would run like that all the time. I think he's been coached not to with Beck and DL emphasizing the pass.
