To focus on nothing but hitting strikes. I know it sounds cliche but for hitters like Wes in slumps these games are good to just focus on the basics of seeing and hitting the ball. If I were coaching I would send everyone up there to just swing away and hopefully we can put up 20+ runs over 18 innings like we used to

If he wants to fix Rea, he'll tell him that if he tries to pull another ball, he is out for the rest of the game. Then Rea would see one pitch a game until he finally decided to stop trying to pull curve balls and sliders.

Sometimes I feel like our hitters need to be more aggressive. For example, I think that in the top of the ninth, Porter and the next guy (can't remember his name) both hit the first pitch they saw.</p>

ever had slumps? The answer he gave was what he said was the best advice he ever got about hitting your way out of a slump and it was from none other than Ted Williams. Williams told him when in the slump to do nothing but try to hit a line drive off the emblem of the pitchers hat. If your early hopefully you'll put it into play on the left side, if late, it'll be in play on the right side.

Either way, that can't be any worse than watching called strike 3's......

Hitters shouldn't be at the plate thinking where or not a pitch is a ball or strike. If it’s a hitter’s count they should be looking for balls that they can hit hard and a pitcher’s count they should be looking to put the ball into play. If they are thinking strike or ball they are done before they get started, no time to think just react.
