That was the best year no doubt.
So here's a question for you... would Richard Williams have had more success with this team than Stansbury? Or did the '96 team just get hot at just the right time?

What happened to the in bounds play where you send a guy hauling *** down the court and throw him a hail mary pass for an easy dunk/layup?.. We used that about 5 times in that highlight and it worked every time. Bring it back.

Loss at UM
Loss at home versus bama'
Won at bama and oklahoma by slim margins (had big leads, let them come back)
Won at home against terrible Tenn team, Tenn got bad call at end of game
Won a game in the forties against Ole miss at home
Kentucky beat hell out of us at home
loss to ark st at home
lost syracuse game, we never should have lost. Dampier got eat up by Hill and Bullard picked worst time to have awful game

I was a freshman during that final four run....living in "the cresswell". It was a nut house during that run.
but many on this board would have a fit if they new the truth. I have never been one with much access to inside information, but I had it that year as I had a relative on the inside.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>
Actually, we lost UALR that year....not Ark State. Difference being, UALR had Derrick Fisher (Lakers) on that team. None the less, yes, I was livid after that game.
Another fact, the previous year, weburned Kentucky in Rupp with home run passes over the press to Dampierand 3s by Grant, Wilson, and Bullard.
One more thing about the Final4 team and Dontae, I remember fans being slightlyfrustrated with Williams because Dontae was sitting on the bench quite a bit early in the season. Also, he missed an SEC game or two.....don't remember the reason...but I know he missed some games at some point in the seasonfor discipline reasons. No way in hell Stansbury would have sat him.
