Tony Kemp has been the difference for them.

Don't forget about our continued ****** situational hitting. Kemp has been good

but we have not produced when we've had chances and that's a major contributor as to why we have lost these first two games.

We are the third best hitting team in the conference...

we are also facing one of the best (if not the best) pitching staffs in the country this weekend. Yea, we didn't hit the ball well today (against an 11-0 pitcher and an outstanding closer), but we are nowhere near a "****** hitting" club...

We can hit, but don't hit well situationally. There is a difference

So, if we have such a good hitting club and our team has such a good pitching

staff why in the hell are we .500 in SEC play with 10 games left? Face it, we have a bunch of punch and judy hitters. Yes, we have a decent team BA but our situational hitting continues to suck, just as it did last year.

Man

analyze the entire league. Look at the results. Factor in the situations, then see if you think this is a valid statement.

Because every other team has 9 guys that consistently come through every time against Vandy and LSU, which is why both those teams are terrible.**

The fact is, Vandy and LSU are two teams that are DOMINATING... I'll say it aGAIN... DOMINATING the league with pitching AND hitting. We aren't as consistent as I'd like us to be with RISP, but to say we are nothing but a team of punch and judy hitters is absolutely absurd (Renfroe, Detz, Frazier, hell, even Pirtle, Ammo, and Slauter are all pretty damn good hitters). No one expected us to beat Beede today, NO ONE. I would have liked us to beat him, but he's 11-0 for a reason, and it ain't cause he sucks. Leave Nashville with a win tomorrow, and we are still in good shape.

It's because there is a very big gap between Vandy and LSU and the rest of the league. We're not bad. We do have alot of singles hitters, but what can we do? Porter, Rae, Slaughter, aren't going to strike fear in anyone.

Its a two team league this year. Us, OM, Ark, South Car, Florida, all have flaws.

We are

one of the top clubs in the league in almost EVERY offensive category, Einstein. Why don't you mention our BAvg with RISP to back up your blind statement. Where does that compare to the rest of the league?

I understand that nimrod but what I'm saying is if our hitting is sooo good, as

you have suggested, and if our pitching is so good then why aren't we better than .500. The stats are deceiving. The only rational answer I can think of is that we don't have any power and our situational hitting SUCKS period.

SEC only stats... we have the 4th best BA with the 3rd best Slugging % in the conference... behind (you guessed it...) Vandy and LSU. We also have the third most RBI's behind (you guessed it...) Vandy and LSU. This tells me the only teams that are better at hitting than us are Vandy and LSU... one of which we are playing this weekend. The numbers speak for themselves...

Because we are playing a team that has 6 losses on the year. Please use numbers and not the "O no'zz, we suckz!!" **** to back up your arguments. We have the 4th best BA average and the 3rd best Slugging% and RBI's in the CONFERENCE... in CONFERENCE ONLY PLAY. Give it a break and do some research. Look at the numbers. I'll even save you the trouble of googling...

2 of Vandy's starters turned down first round offers last year to finish school, BTW. One of them went 4-4 today.

Uh, I'm not talking specifically about this weekend. Take this weekends

losses out of the equation and we are still only 2 games above .500 over half way thru the SEC slate. I'm not saying we suck but what I am saying, for all of you that say we have fantastic numbers in this or fantastic numbers in that, is that while all that may be true those stats are somewhat deceiving else we wouldn't be .500 in the league with 3 weekends to go.

Hey Einstein

nobody is saying we are awesome, but we are near the top in every offensive category. That isn't sucking. Get some perspective and quit making **** up, unless you're going to bring some facts. If you can produce a number showing where we suck offensively with RISP, then ill concede. Something tells me you won't. This isn't 1989.

Name one thing I've made up in this thread. You want facts. Here's a fact

for you; We are .500 in the league. Are you satisfied with that? If so, then you have low expectations, which wouldn't surprise me.

You've yet to

prove that we are terrible with RISP. There are currently 3 teams that are comfortably above 500 in the league: LSU, Vandy, & Arkansas. It's not the end of the world. Get some perspective, Einstein.

No one is saying they are satisfied...

but you can attribute our record to many more things than just "poor situational hitting." How about games we lost because we walked in runs or hit batsmen that scored? That has nothing to do with hitting, and I can name you 3 SEC games right now we lost because walks or HBP.

I have yet to hear one person say they are satisfied with our record or don't expect more out of us. That's pretty obvious... but another fact I have for you is that we have the toughest conference schedule of any team right now, and we are .500 after having to play LSU, @Ark, @UK, @Vandy, @A&M, and then UF and Auburn (being arguably our easiest series to date, on paper). Name me another SEC team whose played a schedule like that and are .500 right now. Gain some perspective. We have a chance to win tomorrow and if we win, we are going to be just fine. Par for the course and we can go on and still count on being on track to host. I don't think fans will ask for more than that.

As far as our hitting is concerned, point to some numbers that show we are terrible hitting situationally. I just pointed to numbers to show we are in the top 20% in the league in situational hitting AFTER playing a hellacious schedule to this point and having to face some of the best pitchers the league can throw at us (Nola, Reed, Fant, Beede, and about 8 others). That's not bad at all, when you put it in perspective.

These last two games have been bad. I couldn't find the RISP numbers, but we are third in grounding into double plays and 4th in SO looking so there may be some credence there. However we are 3rd in HR's so how exactly are we Punch and Judy?
