What will be the top 3A teams. With some teams moving up to 4A this could make the field more open
TC Roberson moved to 4AI was trying to think which teams moved up to 4A. C. Catholic, AC Reynolds, Asheville, Mt Tabor, Weddington, AL Brown, South Iredell, and not sure which others moving up. I know Scotland moves down to 3A. Anyone know what Scotland might have. Could they be at the top in 3A. Dudley sounds like they could be the team to beat.
Crest will have to replace some key skill guys not sure if their qb that went down with acl in spring was a senior or not but he still wouldn't be ready I wouldn't think. Same thing for kings mountain I think they lost a good chunk on defense. Look for Ashbrook to make some noise this year. Huss maybe a year or 2 out from being dangerous, covid seemed to hit the western part of gaston county hard I believe huss only had 40ish kids in the program in spring bessemer city (I know 1a) started with 18 and ended around 12 kids. Hopefully numbers start coming back. Huss is real young right now but are extremely talented.I would be curious to see what a 3a top 15-20 would look like. I'm not sure who all is left. I know who is in 4a now. Another teams I will mention is Eastern Alamance, Havelock and Crest.
What does Jacksonville, Western Alamance, Rocky Mount, Eastern Guilford have for 2021?

Chopper ain’t done this to you in awhile but…Ashboro Blue Comets![]()
I believe my top-tier teams should come as no surprise. I think it's obvious that Lee County is among the elite top-echelon teams and Terry Sanford, Dudley, and Scotland probably will round out what I feel are the top-of-the-line squads.
Havelock is young but they are explosive, Eastern Alamance is very senior heavy and will be a problem to deal with in the East, and Jacksonville in my opinion could be knocking on the door behind the arm and shiftiness of quarterback Josh Benton.
Oak Grove and North Davidson will come up from the 2A ranks and be immediate contenders. I also think the J.H. Rose, Crest, and Seventy-First will be some tough programs to stop.
Statesville is a team that could knock on the door and proves to be a hard out for someone come late November.
Some surprise teams that could come out of nowhere and shock some of you fans are Wilson Fike, Northwood, Northern Nash, and West Charlotte. I would also look out for Concord, North Brunswick, and Williams as a surprise team.
I also think that the 3A isn't quite as deep as it has been in years past. Last year it was about 60-65 teams deep in terms of solid programs. I think it's only about 35-42 teams deep at this moment, but it's early and some real movers and shakers will evolve.
Why are you so high on 71st. I know they have two really good backs but outside of that what are you basing it on?Lee County is my top pick to come out of the East, but Scotland, Havelock, Eastern Alamance, Jacksonville, and J.H. Rose will all have a say in that. Again, I can't stress it enough, don't sleep on 71st either.
On a serious note, I do hope Blake gets things going in the right direction down there. They've been way down for far too long. I'll be rooting for them (except when they play ER/PG, of course).Ashboro Blue Comets![]()
I am going to say Murphy even though Gentry has made his exit. I hear they have some talent returning.1A- No discussion. Who will be the other team to play Tarboro in the finals.
2A- It’s Monroe for me and almost unfair they moved back down to 2A. Very good talent and grit. Arguably the #1 WR in the State if he can stay healthy.
I know and Monroe.
