One other note they are well coaches but had four peraonal fouls in first half verses draughn. Very undisciplined and that will cost you in playoffs.

I'm not a Heritage fan! I'm just saying that they are better than you think. My team would score at will on your defense and they beat us so you better worry about their defense, not their offense!
Thanks Buzz. I wasn't trying to talk down MA. They are the real deal and they have earned that. I was just comparing Erwin to MA because they are the best team Heritage played this season.
It’s Mayberry vs. the world for GC4L. You simply cannot describe another team in a positive manner without him taking offense to not offering continual praise of Mt. Airy.
Buzz on the other hand, you’ve changed, you’re a far more rational poster than you once were. Others may still ride you, which done in fun is ok, but you’re a different dude on here and I’ve noticed. You still have your moments but used to every other post was a “moment”.
Hertiage's QB may be 80 percent of their offense... But Isn't number 4 at least the same percentage of Mt airy's offense so far? I hope this game happens. I think Mt heritage is only legit team in west with shot at Mt airy. Mt airy will play starmount then ER then Mt heritage so everyone will get there shot. Murphy is a year away from title talk IMO. And before people say the one week at a time stuff u can easily fill out most of 1a bracket. The other teams aren't beating the top 4. Starmount could beat Murphy and maybe ER but they wont be playing.
I was wondering the same thing. I just looked at the stats and they only had a little over 400 yards passing all season. That sounds a lot like Mountain Heritage. Looks to me like both of them are run dominated teams.
You are exactly right that both are run dominated teams, the difference is the defense against the run. I was at the game Friday when heritage played draughn and first half draughn ran at will on them. If you look at Mount Airy the last three years including this year no one has run the ball on mount airy. Running against that front 7 is not gonna work is all i am saying. People can get all upset about us talking up our defense but the stats are there. We held Tarboro to 44 yards rushing and no first downs in second half in last year’s championship game. This years defense has better stats by allowing 30 yards less per game rushing including 3 teams in negative yards. One being Starmount at -1.
I know your team at Erwin is very good but I believe we would have given you a better game than heritage. Good luck to you all in playoffs.
You make good points. Your defense must be pretty dang good from what I can tell from your scores this year. Again, I have nothing but respect for the Mount Airy program. If we are not playing in the 4th round I would love to make the drive up and watch you guys hopefully take on Heritage.

I think that would probably be 5th round finals of the west. It will be tough the 3rd, 4th and western finals. Any of those games would be good ones to watch. I personally think Starmount second best team in west. Come enjoy the tailgate experience also
Our sophomore qb has 2400 yards passing and 30td's in just 9 games. Our defense is our weakness. I guess my words are a little strong. We would definitely put up points but it wouldn't be easy. As for running on you we might not go wild be we have an explosive rb that has close to 1000yds.
I will say I think Heritage road to west finals easier than MA.
We would have to have our pass rush to get to him but he sounds really good. Our front seven is really strong with two super good outside backers.
Yeah I guess it's all hypothetical because obviously they will not play each other. It's just a good way to gauge Mountain Heritage because like I said before I think Erwin is the only team they played this year that will be on par with Mount Airy athletically.

Several years ago MH gave Reidsville a really good game with QB running it almost every play. I think it was the coaches son at QB. Have to have good line to make it work.
I was at that game. That heritage team was a lot like this one. They played Reidsville close.
That qb name was Trey Robinson I believe. You literally couldn't stop him. Their offense would just pound the ball relentlessly. That shows how good Reidsville was though.
That team was a lot bigger but they are a lot faster this year
Heritage gave Reidsville a game the following year with Callin Randolph at qb as well

Yes I was at both games. Reidsville was very fortunate to win each of them. They were extremely cocky and confident like Mt Airy fans but got really quiet when they saw Heritage wasn't just some outmatched mountain team.
I think it's a good chance MA and MH play to see who reps the West. I agree with Buzz MA has it tougher with Starmount and ER. That would be three tough games in a row.
I do think the team with Trey Robinson was the best MH team ever. That includes the team that made the state title game and lost to Tarboro. They were probably the best WHC team since the 1980s.
The “Milky” kid would not be caught, or ran with, if he got 1/2 a step on the majority of high school teams. That kid can fly.
It was tarboro in 09, we also made it to the title game in 2020 losing to Reidsville lol but I agree

09 heritage was a very good team. That running back y'all had I can't remember his name but he was legit. That team in 09 had a huge line on both sides of the ball.
Casey Randolph was the running backs name, I remember you guys had a lineman named Jacoby Cofeild that went on to play in the NFL you also had Todd Gurley but I don't think he played offense at that point, 08 and 09 were special years for Heritage cause up to the that point Heritage had only 3 winning seasons in school history and only made it out of the first round once now they are more or less a 10 win team most years
Casey Randolph, that was a really really good team, very big up front, you all were just crazy good, Todd Gurley and those linebackers brings me nightmares

Todd was on special teams on that 09 team. Craddock jokes people give him a surprised look when they find out Todd didn't start as a sophomore. I think it turned out well. Craddock said he and coach Robinson are actually friends he said that in a interview a few weeks ago prior to the Havelock game.
