that’s a interesting pick 4-6 last season but only graduated 4 seniors.
I am a fan of TJ Ellerbe he will be one of the best WRs/Athletes in the area very underrated check out his film.
I would take Greene Central off and put Wallace in 3A East.
I would take Red Springs off and put Nash Central in 4A East. Their usually always lurking around and coached up well.
I gotta have Wallace in there some where! Too much talent coming back. Greene Central has mostly everything back too, WRH lost to North Lenoir and beat Kinston 14-13. GC beat both those teams, I’m not saying there better but they can play
Any insights on Martin County? 8-5 a season ago only graduated 9 and they return a 1200 yard QB 1500 yard rusher and two 500+ yard WRs.
Waiting on feedback from coach Wheeler. 1st year coach, usually everyone is super locked in. From what I seen only the whole offensive is coming back production wise, losing heir best defender but a lot of returning pieces. Very scary. Im trying to figure out are the running back/quarterback related, twins?
DarkHorses have had a bad season (under circumstances) and their history? Go ahead and forget about them, and they may ring your number this year. Football hasn't been forgotten around here. They're going to be better than people expect. They belong in that top 25. I know. I've been around a long time.
Actually if you look closely the last names are spelled different and it’s not a typo saw their pages on Twitter/X. Jysen Shepherd QB and Jah Sheppard RB. Thinking it’s just a coincidence
I thought the Martin County QB transfered to Monroe? If so, I think that is the third time he has transfered in as many seasons.
Thought I read somewhere that Clinton will have a new offensive coordinator this season? If I remember correctly the previous OC was only there one season.
Appears Kinston hitting the portal list pretty hard the last couple of seasons with QB and WR additions. They will be more of a factor in their new conference compared to their previous conference but I dont know if they can get past Tarboro.
James Kenan will be very good. I have seen GC a couple of times over the past few seasons and I would be concenred about discipline and overall coaching. Whiteville always in the running with that staff. Northeastern year in and year out always there. Wallace will be interesting with their staff changes but definitly know how to win.
In 4A the conversation in these parts this season is West Craven and East Duplin. From what I have heard, based on what each has returning, those two are ahead of everyone else. Will be interesting to see how the playoffs shake out given there will probably be a large number of "Western" teams that will play in the east given the low number of true eastern 4A teams. Reidsville, West Stokes, etc...will probably go east.
Reidsville is a possible team that could compete in 4A East because Reidsville is just 30 minutes north of Greensboro, 3A West Stokes is located northwest of Winston-Salem, closer to the Surry County line, only about 10 minutes from East Surry and 20 minutes from Mount Airy. However, it is impossible to predict what the East-West playoff map will look like this year but I would say West Stokes would be the last 3A team to go east .

Sorry, I got to get used to Mount Airy being in a split 3A-4A conference. It has been many years since they were in a split conference. West Stokes is 4A and my main point was I did not think they would go East in the playoffs. MY BAD.
There is a precedent. I remember a first round game at Bunn for WS I think in 2017 in the East 2AA playoffs.
Not many eastern 4a teams compared to the west.

Looks like the NCHSAA may be going to show of some up the coming scrimmage games. I see August 8th Mount Airy vs Walkertown at 6 PM and Mount Airy vs Parkland at 8 PM on the NCHSAA scoreboard website. It also shows other games that are coming up.

I think the qb last year was young. But doesn't look like he will be their guy this year.

It was Garcia he will be a junior. He had good arm and the way Forsyth works he may have transfered
@BuckSweepSports910 doing some digging I heard their QB Sheppard transferred. It’s confirmed that he has transferred, I heard he transferred to Wilson Prep but no confirmation on landing spot just yet

I already had Wilson Prep winning 1A east pretty easily that makes it even more clear……big lost for Martin County

Might want to use a different word than content…maybe posts. Me and @TreyScott_NC have posted more content (Articles) in July than I have done the last 6 months.

3A My picks for the first by the end of the regular season RPI, and not reflecting on who may end up in the East for the playoffs. Early-season picks are just guesses, with everything we are used to being new.
