It’s fun and I don’t really enjoy golf.Taking son to Ridgeland in morning. I’m not a golfer and have never been. Seems pretty easy. Anything else I need to know before going?
My dad always referred to golf as "cow pasture pool"It’s basically a fancy driving range with some targets if you want to keep score.
Well it did start on sheep farms so not far off.My dad always referred to golf as "cow pasture pool"
You’re paying for time not strokes.
In the late 90’s there was a fellow between Durant and Lexington that actually created a driving range in his pasture that still had cows. After a bit he sold or moved his cows and started working on greens and tee boxes. The “course “ still had the fence around it. Think it opened for play in about 2000.My dad always referred to golf as "cow pasture pool"
That’s the Kendall’s. They call it Halifax Holes. In the late 90’s there was a fellow between Durant and Lexington that actually created a driving range in his pasture that still had cows. No kidding. The Sure Drive driver at Top Golf makes me look competent. You’re paying for time not strokes. The faster you hit the more you get to play. I’d buy one of those short drivers if they sold them in the gift shop. I’ve never hit any club as straight as I can hit that thing.
I've considered putting a short shaft in a regular driver head but I'm sure there's more difference than just the shaft length. No kidding. The Sure Drive driver at Top Golf makes me look competent.
It’s the driving range effect. You hit the ball better because you’re relaxed with no pressure.I've considered putting a short shaft in a regular driver head but I'm sure there's more difference than just the shaft length.
The much maligned one here that is or was their only single story version is always packed....inexplicably. of course, the cook at the table hibachi places are also always full too, guess we have sucker clientele for the "once a year" places.Interesting. Kind of aligns with my personal experience. Went once in Alpharetta. It was ok. But not something I’m going to do more than once a year, if that. Actually now that I think about it, it’s been about 3 years since I’ve gone there.
When I lived in Alpharetta, that was about 5 minutes from my house and I only went about 3 times in several years. Two of those was with my job.Interesting. Their same site revenues were down 9% last year. That’s not good. And my fear is over time they start to attract a customer base you don’t want in your neighborhood (see Memphis for an example).I didn't know Top Golf failed. It seems pretty popular here.
The Top Golf here is located in a very nice, booming area, but there's no guarantee that it won't be infiltrated by those other than having a golf-themed party - meaning, those who are there just to cause trouble. That's one reason the shopping mall at the same location closed and was razed.Their same site revenues were down 9% last year. That’s not good. Just like a casino. The computer knew you were leaving. That one shot will bring you back!Just got back home. Was a good time. Like I said , I’m not a golfer. On my last swing, she went straight and long. Hit inside white ring, bounced to net, rolled back down inside white ring. Almost made me add some more minutes!
The computer didn’t make me hit it straight without slicing! Blind hog found acorn on that swing.Just like a casino. The computer knew you were leaving. That one shot will bring you back!
I went to a work outing once and just joined a bunch of Indian fellas I didn’t know well. I ended up driving 2 balls into the basket at the far wall for a couple of perfect scores. I had no idea what I was doing, I wasTaking son to Ridgeland in morning. I’m not a golfer and have never been. Seems pretty easy. Anything else I need to know before going?

Just driving…. But I became a cult hero with it the local IT circle!! And if I had any idea what the objective was, I’m confident I’d have never hit the target….
