Different players peak at different levels, I guess. In HS, he was the master, but he was surrounded by a great cast of characters. Helped revolutionize the HS game in north Mississippi. Now lots of teams run a passing offense and, conversely, have some idea how to defend against it. At the time, a lot of the teams Shannon played still had everyone on defense yell "PASS" when the QB dropped back with the ball. Lots of hoarse D-linemen and linebackers around after that.
Honorable Mention would include Dicenzo Miller at Weir HS. When he took the handoff, it looked like the other 21 players on the field went into slow motion.
And one nobody ever heard of: Spinshea Outlaw, Aberdeen HS. Would have been an awesome speedster in college but reportedly couldn't count to 2.
