Name a story that you never could confirm or was very far-fetched that it was close to unbelievable.

For example, Foglesong was jogging and called someone to pick up trash and the next day it wasn't so he called LT and told him to pick it up. Or, Taite never threw to Moulds in the Peach Bowl because Moulds was banging his girlfriend.

one random day while he was in school (i think maybe his soph year), erick dampier pulled up in the driveway of the old athletic dorm in a new ride. this new ride was a tricked out, chromed out, bright RED extended cab chevy pickup. you could see this thing coming for a mile. incognito it was certainly not.

one of our coaches (not sure which one) just happened to be there when erick arrived in his new shiny toy. he went out to meet erick before he even got in the door, and told him "i don't know who gave you this, but YOU HAVE GOT TO GIVE IT BACK." erick got back in the truck and drove off, and the red chevy was not seen on campus again.

Maholm against 4 seed Middle Tennessee and ends up costing us the regional.

Oh wait, that did happen.

especially during the Jackie years. I have heard this happening from a couple of sources, but never any confirmation.

The biggest rumbling I heard was around the Arkansas loss in '99 or '00 that kept us out of the SEC Championship Game and from a higher bowl game. Folks were claiming that there was collusion between LT, the SEC and the NCAA because there was a desire to have the money programs with large traveling fanbases going to these games. Again, unconfirmed black helecopter theory.

It also cost us hosting South Carolina in the Super Regional due to national seed Georgia Tech going 2-and-done in their regional.

In reality, JWS thought the balls used by the punter were over-inflated, not filled with helium, and asked the officials to check it. I think it was Tuberville who said JWS was looking for helium-filled balls.

"...at UT because he thought the were piping in crowd noise."

I don't think he actually cut the wires himself, but I know he was pretty upset about the UT cheerleaders using their PA speakers to add to the crowd noise.

That is one of the better black helicopter theories I have ever heard. We all know the SEC and NCAA have it out for us, but would LT stoop that low?

I've heard chatter that we threw games in the Sherrill era too.

Archie Manning wanted to come to MSU and we wouldn't give him the time of day.

...because a MSU fan made fun of Scientology on a Utah/MSU messageboard.

#2: Under Ron Polk, MSU could never win consistently @Dudy Noble because the large home crowds made the MSU youngsters trying to play a baseball game nervous ( technically, this would be more Ron Polk ******** that an urban legend, though Polk said it enough to turn it into an urban legend).

...to play DB/S @ MSU.

I know because I once heard Sherrill say it on a TV show.

I don't know about the "greatest Safety to ever play @ MSU" part.

Maybe that part qualifies as an urban legend.

...but Stans Jones is still a distant second to the urban legend via Roy McLain & Bulldog Backer that a PLOI sat in Khayat's desk drawer from 2000-2006.

namely McCrary, because they wanted Taite to play. Except for Moulds, see previous post by me.

....at least for one or two games at the end of the season. Except it wasn't black receivers. It was McCrary and Plump. F* them both.

I heard Moulds, Taite, Eric Dotson, Tommy Kelley and probably others I have forgotten. How people could or want to repeat that stupid stuff.......I have no idea.

sort of like a golfball, it would make the 'compression' of it less and therefore easier for a weaker legged punter to kick further.

I don't think he was a prized recruit, was he? I just thought the urban legend was that our dumb fanbase actually thought that clown was going to start against Alabama in '93.

I think Jordan played with an injury instead.
