Mississippi State invented the method for producing 10-10-10 fertilizer but didn't get a patent for it.

An MSU message board needed the page views, so they made up the same silly types of threads that they sometimes ban people for.

I don't think he actually cut the wires himself, but I know he was pretty upset about the UT cheerleaders using their PA speakers to add to the crowd noise.
Jackie told MSU students at his weekly chalk talk that he sent some people to cut their wires.

Bullard receives a briefcase with $10,000 in the days leading up to the Syracuse game to fix the game.

Moulds orders a pizza before going out to practice. The delivery guy arrives with the pizza to the practice fields and Moulds walks over to get his pizza and pay the guy. An assistant coach stops him and says 'What do you think you're doing?!' Jackie steps in and says 'He's an All-American, he can do whatever he wants."

I don't think he was a prized recruit, was he? I just thought the urban legend was that our dumb fanbase actually thought that clown was going to start against Alabama in '93.

I think Jordan played with an injury instead.
Pizinski..something like that. He was a walk-on, and the only QB left on the roster. Rather than play a walk-on QB, Jackie played Todd Jordan who could only stand still in the pocket & also played a WR at QB to run the option because we had no other option. Everybody knows an SEC school would never play a walk-on QB.

Wait...

...couldn't be caught in a telephone booth.

Ah, Ray Ray Bivines. One of my favorites among players who didn't quite reach potential. I think the same analogy was used later for Antonio (Bob) (The Next Randy Moss) Hargro.

I heard the same thing, only replace Moulds with Smoot and Jackie with Melvin.

and when Frank Wilson asked how does he get home, Mullen replied with "Why don't you ask UT?".

but he stayed at USC to be close to family because of the Rodney King riots.

Also heard that Dontae Walker got away with so much **** because he had kept proof that his recruiting was improper and he held it over the coaches' heads, then as payback, Sherill made sure than when he got caught, he got an over the top sentence.

And I heard the McNair/safety thing, but I also heard that we (and Ole Miss) never gave Jerry Rice or Walter Payton the time of day.

i think after one year in juco. he didn't make the grades, though, so he went back for one more year and then went to USC. nothing to do with rodney king, but it would've been a shame to have keyshawn on one side and moulds on the other, with derrick taite trying to throw the ball to them... (maybe he signed out of HS then had to go juco, not sure about the timing).

I always threw the whole thing out as urban legend, good to know that half of it was true.

found them in church instead of the football field.

/seriously... heard once that Croom was overheard while yelling at a professor for not giving a player a grade that was promised for the semester. apparently there were some tickets and signed footballs involved. never could get any confirmation on it though.

sort of like a golfball, it would make the 'compression' of it less and therefore easier for a weaker legged punter to kick further.

an MSU professor is (supposedly) currently working on a patent worth over $1,000,000,000. Yeah, that's a bil.
The Timtek stuff could supposedly be worth millions or more, if we get that working.
But, you know where Mississippi State University currently makes the most money from patents? Grass. In Boston. And golf courses, etc.

I've been in the one that runs from the Union to the Cafeteria. The entrance was just down in the basement of the Union. Some are used quite regularly. I'm not sure where the others run, but I heard the main intersection is the drill field. Just hearsay.

Says so it in his book called "Rare Air," however, it says he would have gone to MSU or Clemson to play both baseball and basketball before UNC offered a scholarship

He ran a 4.33 and they made him run it again and he ran a 4.39...that's legitimate. He didn't play because he's a dumbass.

I don't know if it is there anymore, but I used to explore them when I was a kid a little over twenty years ago and we would get into them through the grate between McCain and Carpenter.

Scott Field was built on an indian burial mound.

Also part of the cotton district is built over older parts of the Oddfellows cemetery. Especially all the apartments and houses on Jarnigan street.
