Up 42-0, they let the backup QB run it in for another score with 8 seconds left on the clock.

Michigan State was giving the sign to the defense for the stop, but Michigan's sideline:

I get letting the backups play for a while, but when it gets to the last minute, either kneel it down for have the RB go straight up the middle. There's no need to rub it in.

UM put in their 3rd string team in the 3rd quarter and they were trying to run the score up? Seriously?

Yes. Seriously. It was obvious from the play calling that they were trying to get that young QB a score.

I'm kinda surprised a guy like Geno VanDeMark hasn't entered the portal
Nothing to gain by doing it right now. Wouldn't be surprised if he does it in the off season.
Another thing is that maybe he likes going to school there. Can't rule that out.

I'm not surprised. As I'm sure you know, the two schools' students bodies have long despised the other's -- it goes way beyond normal rivalry.

Somebody needs to be fired over this.
As should many of the faculty at elite schools who cheered and encouraged brutality and savagery over the last couple of weeks One Cornell prof thought it was exhilarating. In no way is this a defense of MSU, but think about a stupid low level employee running a scoreboard at a football game versus full professors at elite schools who are teaching and shaping the thought process of young people. The scoreboard was not promoting or touting Hitler. What we saw and heard on many campuses the past 2 weeks from professors and students was much worse. Again, this is no defense of MSUs error

I mean … that was literally the #4 quarterback, running behind the third string offensive line, who scored running right up the gut. It isn’t like we ran some reverse pass or something to stick in one last score - we certainly weren’t playing to maximize the blowout. Michigan’s starters were all out with almost 6 minutes left in the third quarter and played ever single player on the 74 man travel roster, including the backup longsnapper. If Harbaugh had wanted to score 100 in that game, we would have. Pretty tough to make the case Michigan acted in a classless manner in this game, IMO, especially given all the bad blood between these programs.

There have been a few games recently where it seems the coaches are too familiar with betting lines.
That being said, it is Mich vs Mich St..,
Either team would do the same thing.

All coaches know the betting lines. Many well heeled boosters make sure they know and remind them regularly. Especially in the south.

Against RU Harbaugh showed a little class from Mich. on their last drive by using the clock up, and not passing, thus avoiding a score.
