While i disagree with Parrish when he suggests Stans may be the next coach out due to improper benefits, i dont disagree with Parrish in his overall point which i think the article title describes well-
"One-and-done Mayo costs Floyd reputation, job; coaches beware"
Coaches beware. Beware of sketch players because taking the risk and signing them may totally 17 you and your program in the end. Mayo with USC, potentially Rose with Memphis, and now Sidney with MSU.
It could totally F with Stans's reputation and the MSU program if he is admitted and after the fact is found to have been on the take this whole time.
I am all for Sidney playing at MSU because i want MSU to be great...but lets not kid ourselves and actually try to suggest that he is an amateur. He has bounced around schools for the last 4 years, moved out to LA for exposure, the most crooked man in basketball paid for his family to move and for his dad to...well, who really knows what 'consulting' actually is in that regard, and played for an AAU started by his dad and set up as a non-profit that has taken in money yet not reported it to the IRS.
Oh, then there is that whole housing thing. Yep, there is for sure a logical explanation as to how they could afford to live in those houses at those rates and it was all totally legit without any sort of favors.
That isnt an amateur. Thats a kid whose talent is being used to help improve the lives of his family. Right or wrong, thats the reality of the situation.
And the NCAA says that players who are compensated like he is suspected of being compensated really isnt an amateur.
