CJF may not be in the very top, but he he much closer to the very top than he is the middle (or mediocre).
I know you like to compare his record vs. the "big 2" so... Since 2014:
OSU has lost 9 big ten conference games. 4 vs mich and one each vs MSU, PSU, iowa, Pur, and Ore. Six Big Ten teams have beat OSU, durring that time. CJF was coach of one of them. Nine conference games were played every year, except 2020 when 6 were played. 96 games played, OSU lost 9, one vs PSU. 12 current B1G teams have not beat OSU since 2014 (4 teams were added in 2024, so 8 historical teams). You could be 1 of 1 (Michigan), 1 of 5 (others teams that beat OSU), or 1 of 12 (or 8), that never won, you choose?
Mich has not been as dominant as OSU since 2014, but has still only lost 26 conference games, playing 96 games. 12 teams are responsible for these losses, PSU being one of them (3 times). Only MSU (5) and OSU (6) have beaten Mich more than 3 times over that time period. Wiscy also has 3 wins vs. Mich.
Since 2014 only 4 Big Ten teams have a win vs both of the "big 2". MSU, iowa, Ore, and Penn State.
MSU has a total of 6 wins vs "big 2", PSU has 4 wins and no other team has that many wins or more.
That is rare company. CJF is a very good coach.
