the spell of Hugh. It is very important for the sports team coaches and the local PD to get along. I think under Croom/Jackie it was a problem for us but it appears Mullen has done pretty well in this department.

From what I hear, we do a pretty good job of that as well. I know of quite a few things that never made the papers. It's the nature of the business. We just get to needle each other when one of them slips through the cracks and take the moral high road for a while.

in the sec if you don't have some "questionable" characters on your team, you can't compete. it is a tough, tough business. that said i have to disagree with bruiser...we may have had some stuff "resolved quietly" but ever since nutt was around the oxf pd seems to have a hard on for the football players. not saying anything about this one cause i know no details but they make some stops that just aren't necessary. they can be a**holes to alums also on game weekends. really odd situation in my opinion.

I have friends that go to games up in Oxford that are very fearful of

roadblocks after games and other big events. I'm sure same thing happens in SVegas but I just don't hear it that much. One of my main reasons for buying a condo close to campus was the ability to limp home after a hard night on the town.

I dont' know about under Croom, but the PD was plenty accommodating for State under Jackie, at least towards the end. Might would have been better for him if they had been less accommodating.
