True, but the fans don't block on 3rd and 8.
And many of our fans......
-1.Don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord Split you..:cool2:
Yeah, just lost a lot of respect for the kid. He was given 3 full years and was benched the last game of year.
What a crock of BS, a big time leader he is not. You just lose a 21 point lead to arch rival and he announces he is transferring, getting out of dodge. I could care less, I mean that is what's wrong with this team, a bunch guys that want everything handed to them. PT seems like a good kid but no tears from me. He was given the keys to this car for 3 years. He should suck it up and get through Christmas break and announce later. I mean what a ****$y way to do this. Run when it the going gets tough, sit me down and I will show you. Don't care where he goes, hope he has injury free career and is good health. This guy gets 3 years and first little set back than he leaves, No wonder the team doesn't win with this type of BS
IMO
I'm not following. Are you saying our OL was bad? (I agree with that btw).True, but the fans don't block on 3rd and 8.
I agree , is Randy Sanders on his staff ?He could do a lot worse than learning from and playing for Cutcliffe. Could flourish under him.
Big statement, but honestly I agree with itThe kid, along with most of the roster, could choose one or two of a million reasons to transfer
The program is a total mess and no better than with Joker... Except back then the fans weren't lied to and sold a bill of goods to follow complete trash. In some ways, this is worse
Joker lost big with bad players. Stoops is taking kids with potential and ruining their futures
Probably should've said "even heavier scrutiny". [laughing]huh? So your saying that they are not under heavy scrutiny in your eyes? lmao!!!
3/4 of this staff needs firing right now. I'd say he is leaving because of the staff is horrible.
Good lord....Juice, Timmons, Badet? Those guys can run. Baker is a slow boat and Bone is hard to call but he's so tall. UK has recruited WR just fine.our wide receiver's don't have enough speed. Stoops doesn't put enough emphasis on speed in recruiting
So it really doesn't matter which QB we have in there, They'll be forced to throw into coverage because the wide out can't get separation often enough
No. Some guy named Scottie Montgomery coaches QBs. Whoever he is. Looked up Sanders...he's with FSU. Didn't know that. Liked him.I agree , is Randy Sanders on his staff ?
Yeah you go play on his team and follow him. He is not going to win you any games.I can tell you're a man's man. Big tough grizzly of a man I'm sure. The only BS is in your post.
Juice, Timmons, Badet? Those guys can run.
I tend to agree but if he proves me wrong, good for him.No matter what system Patrick Towles plays in he will never be a big time QB prospect due to his inability to adjust. Kid just does not have it between the ears to be an "IT" kind of QB.
Stoops recruits the fastest available I would think, Every coach is looking for the same thing. There is just so many out there, however I have seen excellent receivers that wasn't blessed with speed. but had good hands and knew how to run their routes.our wide receiver's don't have enough speed. Stoops doesn't put enough emphasis on speed in recruiting
So it really doesn't matter which QB we have in there, They'll be forced to throw into coverage because the wide out can't get separation often enough
I agree.I was never bothered one bit by his hair . Of course I used rock a mullet back in the day . Seriously though , I think he is a class kid . I hope he makes a wise decision and goes to a place with an offense he can thrive in . I always thought he was giving us his best .
Offense from top to bottom regressed this year...there's wasn't a play maker to be found..
.I mean even the worst teams usually have one guy that they can go to and rely on for a play here and there...and that isn't totally on Dawson..
You wore a mullet, then you lose all credibility to judge hair...Just kidding, I wish the best for the kid too.I was never bothered one bit by his hair . Of course I used rock a mullet back in the day . Seriously though , I think he is a class kid . I hope he makes a wise decision and goes to a place with an offense he can thrive in . I always thought he was giving us his best .
sounds like the make up of this team is not very tough. Things get a little testy, opponent hits you in the mouth even though you have a 21 point lead, we roll up and take it. Blame the fans. Actually the team needs a shot of toughness injected. Get hit back and we fold like a cheap tent.Bush league is your post.... Real deal..
I think PT may be well served by a transfer if he can find a team that needs a QB and has a line that can give him max time to survey the field and throw. This move could have positive implications for his pro career. In any case Towles was a great representative for Kentucky off the field.
The bad thing about Towles on these message boards is there is a significant segment that supports Towles and treated fair minded posters as if their POV was an attack on Towles personally. That usually made matters worse insofar as posters having to defend a valid POV backed with game statistics that are hard to argue against.
I hope PT the very best and that he finds success. I hope the very same thing for Barker. I want the Kentucky QB to be successful no matter what his name is!
Boulder Cat I had the same hopes as you....but it became apparent early in the season, we just didn't have the strength in the trenches to take on the better programs in the SEC. Our skill players are OK, but until we can win the LOS with regularity, we're in deep do-do.This season schedule was definitely an opportunity lost. I really thought we could have ended up say where UT did, at 8-4 and 3rd in the SEC. I think the fans and this board would have been extremely pleased with that. Instead for the 2nd year we get off to a great start, and then just fall apart. Part was the schedule got tougher, but the team just never seemed to jell. 1 season like that is bad, but 2 is a row is a trend. It seems all the optimism and enthusiasm which held through last years collapse is gone, and it's going the other way. If we end up losing a bunch of recruits to late switching it's going to be an awfully long off season for the fans, and the team, and UK could again get poor attendance next year. I believe the coming season is do or die for Mark Stoops as a head coach. Let's hope he does.
I said I would like to have seen Barker play as early as ULL. People on this board mistakenly read that to mean I wanted Towles benched. They just decided to attack with misrepresentation of my opinion. That happened to more posters than just myself. I also said the whole hair thing was absurd.Hmmm. There has been plenty of negative personal attacks on Towles, not only on the threads today about him transferring, but all year. Maybe you didn't personally attack him, but there are plenty who have.
Furthermore, the POV you keep alluding to was a bunch of fans clamoring for Barker since the UF loss and as we see in yesterday's performance, he was the 2nd string QB for a damn reason.
Imagine if Towles went 6-22 and -1 passing yards in the 2nd half.......our fans would burn down Commonwealth Stadium.
